Interesting

But always so hard to know what is relevant or not with foods (before testing first hand) since there is tons of seemingly knowledgable people who will say one thing and tons of other seemingly good ones that will say the exact opposite

So green tea everyday seems to be not good though ?

@pluto with people like sadhguru, they can be sensitive to the foods they consume, knowing what foods their body prefers to digest. but i dont know how credible what hes saying actually is.

To my understanding of nature, what he explains is most wise. These (strong medicinal herbs) like Garlic, Chili, Onion, Coffee ect.. are not standard foods but medicine and can be very beneficial when used as medicine but not daily use, especially when eaten raw and in excess they are taxing on the organics and nervous system.

Most people do not notice because their bodies/minds have become used to the state that its in and cannot tell if its functioning optimally or being effected negatively but foods they consume.

Like someone mentioned in a comment, you cannot eat these foods like you can eat potatoes or fruit in abundance without having a strong reaction to your bodily senses as the heat/intensity and strength of these herbs have.

This is really nature telling us that the food itself shows, based on its intensity, if it should be eaten all the time or only sometimes. If the taste is more neutral like a potato for example and doesn't create a strong reaction in your senses then it is only logical that you can consume this in abundance. We all know how the body reacts when we eat too much spice food. Its great but not every single day.

These foods really start to make their appearance as medicine when you and practice meditation, mindfulness and seeking to remain inner-calm, peaceful and still in mind. You will notice it will be more challenging to do so if you consume these herbs daily and you will notice when you eat more Sattvic approach which removes these powerful herbs/spices, you will be able to enter deeper states of stillness and calmness and mind chatter is significantly less because you aren't overstimulating your nervous system.

The more overstimulated the nervous system, the bigger the ego.

If youre a typical stage Orange Westerner you really dont have any clue about diet unless youve done alot of reseach so I would not just ignore what Sadhguru is saying. How many of us have actually done research into what onion does to the body... Not many... We just eat what we were taught growing up and now were totally desensitized, we dont even realize that sugar is drug because were so high on it all the time.

Indeed. Sugar is lethal for the mind/body. Many foods we consume are toxic drugs. Even modern white flour/wheat/bread has a drug-like effect on our bodies overtime. Until we do a proper fast for few weeks to months on only water or fruit or fresh fruit/veggie juice fast to really deep clean and restore our bodies back to natural balance, we will never notice the true depth of the negative effects on our bodies and minds these substances have we consume regularly. Especially when we decide to live a more spiritual path as for some of us, spirit is all we know, we cannot live or be any other way since we have awoken from the illusion of man. Most people, especially in the west are indeed severely, chemically, desensitized.
