Toshihiko Izutsu

He was a well known Japanese scholar on Islam. He mastered both Zen Buddism and Islamic Sufism. He studied Ibn Arabi's works & was the first to translate the Quran from arabic to Japanese. He also made a few comparative studies of eastern & islamic philosophies. 

He's a polyglot, mastering over twenty languages. A true genius & enlightened master.

Wow, what an interesting perspective his would be. I'd like to read some of his books.

Particuarly interesting to me look:

His books seem difficult to find!
