High arousal peak experiences are not like being enlightened

6 posts in this topic

My point is that many people here are chasing the wrong thing. If you've done 5-MeO-DMT, you may think that this is an awakening, the enlightenment that guys like Eckhart Tolle are talking about but it's a very different thing. All those states of high arousal from psychedelics are fleeting and will always pass. Persistent state of disidentification from the ego is what it's about, which feels more like metta equanimity or peace. I have nothing against 5-MeO, I'm using it myself and think it's an amazing experience but it simply won't make you enlightened. You have to try many different sober practices.

5-MeO is not a high arsoual.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

How it's not?

On it I become much more aware of everything, energy is flowing through my body, more vivid senses and less dullness, intense love. I don't mean sexual arousal of course.
