Terrible Ego Backlash : What do I do?

4 posts in this topic

I was meditating for two weeks, and all of life felt like it was slowing down, and blissful, until one day, the manipulative machinery within my mind took over, i started getting distracted with little things, i still am. And i didn't do any meditation, didn't go to the gym, would spend all day going on twitter, youtube and watching TV. Two weeks ago, i thought i was on the path to renounce material life, and this seems like a 180 degree flip.

I need to get back on the path i was, but it feels like it's not in my control. I know that i need to just sit there and do nothing, but something in me, isn't allowing me to do so, in fact, it's been a week i have been lowkey looking for solutions, and the best thing that happened this week, might be that i decided to post this. Trust me, i am in trouble, what do i do?

Just sit and meditate and while you do it observe those thoughts that say  "I want to go to twitter, or youtube or watch TV"... just observe those tendencies or thoughts and continue meditating.

I know it's hard, you will feel sometimes that you can't do it but that's also a thought. Be aware of everything, even those thoughts and focus on your breathing. If you can try to do a guided meditation on youtube, it will help to focus in the practice instead of your thoughts and tendencies.

Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?

@assx95

Go with it. Do whatever you feel like doing.

You will stay thirsty until you drink water.

Just be mindful as you're drinking. Because the water you're used to is not 100% pure water, it usually comes with lots of unnecessary damaging stains/blots. You will develop a taste for detecting those stains/blots with mindfulness.

The key is just to be present and accepting of whatever is happening, be it meditation, video games, or masturbation. The key is to observe.

Learning = Observation
