i am thinking this thought
ohhhh, i am not the thought! i am aware of the thought

the thought plays itself. thinks itself. mind tries to get the mind. chasing its own tail. i am always watching this dance... at one time, it was as if i am also dancing... but i am simply watching the dance. and without my involvement in the dance. the dance loses its glory

i am not the forming of these words
or the one seeming reading them in my mind

i am the one who hears
i am the one who sees
i am the sensor which senses and thus knows
I AM
there is no thought process of choosing which happens for me to write any of this
it is all a spontaneous dance of words before my eyes
and your eyes
and all of our eyes

abstract words forming together elegantly as they must so that they make sense as required
to convey the message which needs to be given to no-one and everyone
for there is only all of this
but in all of this there are also others
who seemingly think they are separate from all of this
there are no characters without the movie
and no movie without the characters
heads and tails
left and right
up and down

all are
and I am
all is within this I AM
and I AM ALL OF THAT yet stand apart from it

A fascinating insight, this is something which exercises me too, SoonHei. Awareness of mental objects. Is this one 'thing' or two? The awareness, and the thought/feeling/sound/sight etc. As far as I can tell, my mind has two modes of operation:

1. The sense of me, the subject, being aware of all this activity going on at a distance, the objects. This is my usual mode.

2. I fall away and the subject / object split collapses. Sights and sounds are awareness/consciousness and physical objects simultaneously. This is my 'meditation' mode.

My mind flips between these two modes spontaneously (not just during sitting meditation), but whether this has anything to do with 'Ultimate Reality' or not is hard to say, it could just be different brain processes. On the other hand, I think that materialistic science is closer to (2) than (1) because, like the Buddha, it doesn't really believe in a self or me separate from the physical workings of the brain (the ghost in the machine). So, if you go down the materialistic road of saying that everything is objective and there is no actual subjectivity (it's an illusion), that's only a step of intuition away from realising that objectivity has also collapsed. Doesn't this also mean that physical matter and consciousness are the same thing?

Nick.

@MuddyBoots hey

Yes. Certainly. What you call "physical reality" is made out of consiousness

So u can say it's the same thing, yes

Consiousness is the clay

Physical reality is the object made out of clay

Don't go thinking about the "solidity" of the physical reality. Yes... It is "solid"

But just like ur dreams at night, u punch a wall, it will be solid... But it is made out of your consiousness

Consiousness is everything.

If consciousness is everything, when the duality collapses it's just as logical to say that physical matter is everything, and consciousness is a product of matter. But I find it easier to think that both consciousness and matter are only ideas, they don't really exist. Similarly with time and space. These are all the map not the territory (that sounds like such a cliché).

@MuddyBoots you're right :)

you can say it in an infinte # of ways... as long as you know what is being pointed to with each label/word you choose.

consciousness is everything and physical matter is a product of consciousness

physical matter is everything, and consciousness is a product of physical matter

eiofjwojief is everything and OOrjFCC is a product of eiofjwojief

lemon turtle is everything and Rubik's tissue is a product of lemon turtle

like watching a movie...

you can choose subtitles in many languages... as long as you know what meaning they are pointing to and (you understand that language :D) then they are all valid.

but yes. all these are concepts.

taste the concept!

like reading about a ice-cream flavor and then finally TASTING it.

taste will be beyond all the words/labels/concepts you read about it.

BEYOND in the sense... that it is out of reach... not conveyable... not describable with words.

TASTE is KNOWN
