A little Sufi wisdom

Just read this on Facebook, thought of sharing it..

A conversation between a Sufi student (S) and a Sufi master (M).

S: Could you please teach me the one greatest name of Allah?

M: Why? What are you going to do with it?

S: I'm going to ask Allah to answer my prayers (he seeks materials), by the grace of His greatest name.

M: Son, the greatest name of Allah is no secret, everyone already knows it, but almost everyone misuses it.

S: Master, please tell it to me! I seek nothing but the truth.

M (smiled and said): You just said it!

S: What did I say?!

M: You said that you seek nothing but the truth. So, know, my son, that the key to knowing Allah's greatest name is to be truthful. Truthful with Allah, yourself, and other people through sayings and deeds. That is one of the keys to Allah.

Son, be truthful and you'll see the wonders! Be truthful and you'll find resolution. Be truthful and you'll have all of your prayers answered.

In the end, the master concluded: "Promise me to be fully truthful, and you shall receive all the good".

The student had a grin and kissed his master's head and said: "I promise you. Just pray for me".

Seriously, how to communicate higher truths with materialists? I can clearly see the gap between the master and the student. I wonder if that student ever got it.

I see.

But if I could be 100% sure that my words would fall on deaf ears, then I wouldn't be wanting to spread no wisdom. I mean the only purpose of communicating is communication. Why even make a master of myself then? Why not just be some ordinary person?

Just like in the story, there is no wise master and no student. Both are characters in the story. There is only you the reader, who is also the author at the same time as the you are the reader. 

So why communicate it?

You tell me.

@Truth Addict Do you think seeds can be planted? Perhaps that student used the master’s words to use “truth” as a tool for person gain. After many years of futile seeking, perhaps the Truth of master’s words were suddenly realized.

But relatively speaking, we do specific things to achieve specific outcomes.

If the master and the student are just characters in a story, then the 'I' that you're referring to as me is also just a character in a story. So ultimately, I'm not the reader, nor even the author. I simply am just an illusory identity.

the answer is because truth by communication is truth! it just can never enter your direct experience unless it carries to correct associated direct experience or imagination of that term with it. 

so once you've hit that stage. Words are the true to you! and it has now pierced your consciousness

the difference is bridging the gap, there will always be a gap because you can not enter someone elses direct experience 

it doesn't mean you don't try. 

all the passages in this thread, are because each writer thinks what they've written to be truth. even "i don't know something" is truth

all experience is subjective! even as awareness lol, i can confidently say with 100% certainty, that all of you are wrong about the absolute truth and there is no doubt in my mind, what so ever. you will then use your frame of reference to say i'm wrong, then i will say where did that frame of reference come from, then you will say .... and i will say where did that come from and we can go on to eternity in truth. 

and i'm not just talking about you guys, i'm talking about everyone in the past aswell. like i don't know 3 people i think might know it. 

the only way out of it is to be gifted the knowledge.

maybe you learnt something about your thread  see ya 

anyways it was worth the try i guess. feel like questioning why i do the things i do. But i guess that's just it, we never know what character were going to play. its said that there are destroyers of universes out there that do what they do, simply for the sake of absolute infinity being, they may not like what they do. Some get a thrill from it. 

i guess there are stable and healthy benefits of enlightenment. did you not love your character? was suffering not beautiful ? 

In a way i already compensated my own self. that's probably why i do what i do, otherwise i would be in the same boat as you guys.

This is what @Aakash is saying - reality is an Absolute relativity.  The only Absolute in reality is YOU because you ARE reality.  And to awaken to the Absolute is to awaken to yourself.

Not sure if that helps you either because it is relative as well.  Language collapses here.

It has to be communicated in the proper ways.

Simplistic ways as in the story above are too ineffective.

Give that student 30mg of 5-MeO-DMT, and maybe he'll get it.

When the master said: "you just said it!", he meant that "I" is the greatest name (I should have explained in my OP). Still, he couldn't say it explicitly because he knew he would be misunderstood, and that he would create a devil.

The best they got at that time was probably the spinning technique  and even that was viewed as stupidity.

@Truth Addict It's probably fruitful to see where the person your communicating with is and communicate that which the person is ready to hear.

The question is whether the world around you is a playground of love or a porn scene. 

We are just here to distract ourselves from the real work, stroking each other's egos and build businesses.
