Different ways of witching

bedridden witches who hear the call of the seas.

Burn sea/beach scented candles.

Listen to background sounds like waves or the wind.

Make macrame strands that have glass beads or sea glass in them.

SEA. SALT. Just keep a jar of sea salt around for any of your needs and to feel connected!

Make a simple salt water spray to cleanse your space.

Create an altar/shelf dedicated to the sea.

Keep beach and ocean themed pictures, paintings and postcards around your room.

Make a sand garden.

Hold a glass of water on your hands, and focus on how the water is/has been connected to the ocean.

Create a sideblog for all your ocean needs. Can double as an altar!

Keep a collection of sea shells and invest in a shell field guide!

Watch ocean documentaries.

Keep crystals like opal, quartz, selenite, blue calcite, ocean jasper, and labradorite around.

Create a bottle filled with things that remind you of the ocean. Here’s mine.

Write/read poetry about the sea.

I really like using ocean waves as a way to clear my mind when I need to calm down/start meditating. Use meditation to connect to the ocean!

Hang flowing curtains from the ceiling - light turquoise and white.

Learn about the lore and mythology related around the ocean.

Whisper sweet nothing towards the sea - it doesn’t matter how far away it is!

The moon phases directly interact with the ocean. Keep track of them!

Draw sigils designed to connect you to the ocean.

Get a little fish tank (only if this feels manageable to you of course!) and keep it in your room.

Do seashell divination

Decorate with beach/seaside decor - rustic wood, shells, blown glass, etc.

Connect with any deities of the ocean/sea (for me that includes Amphitrite, Poseidon and Ceto).

Make/wear seashell or pearl jewelry.

Listen to music that makes you feel like you’re standing in front of the ocean.

When it’s windy or downpour rain, allow it to take you to the sea. Feel the raw energy. Open the window a crack if you can!

This is a great resource for some sea witching ideas!

Kitchen witchin’ without the kitchen!

With help from: @magical-girl-ilex and @spooniewitches!

Set up:

A tray of some sort - something to create a solid surface over your bed.

Cookbooks and herb books tucked somewhere nearby.

A crate of spices and herbs.

Shelves that can store ingredients that are within reach of the bed/above the bed.

Get a mini crock pot and set it up near your bed.

Hang bundles of herbs to dry from the walls and ceiling.

Keep simple, easy to open snacks nearby - saltines have salt, right? Cleansing!

A pitcher/container of water.

Herbs planted along the bedroom windowsill.

A portable kettle that is safe to use within reaching distance of the bed.

Rags or towels for spills.

Room decorations that make you feel extra cozy!

Things to do:

Make infused honey.

Draw sigils on the bottom of your plate/tray/mug before consuming things.

Create tea blends and keep them in jars for the next time you want tea.

When you eat or drink, feel it’s energy working to heal you.

Make a spell bottle - include your favorite spices!

Make a pinterest board of all the foods/recipes you want to try/make.

Make tinctures!

Plan menus for hypothetical meals - sabbats anyone?

Burn candles that remind you of cozy smells coming from the kitchen.

Create correspondences for the BRAT/Y diet.

Look up recipes!

Make cold infusions (basically tea, but with cold water and a longer waiting period).

Process herbs; grind them, separate the leaves from the stems, get them ready to dry.

Infuse water with things like: Lemon for energy, strawberries for love, cucumber for patience, etc.

Connect with deities of home/hearth/baking/food/etc.

Etch sigils into food before you eat it.

Make herb packets and mixtures, that way you can just pop it in when you have enough energy to cook!

Two words: Tea Magic.

Utilize color correspondences of candy if that’s all you can get down. (Yellow = energy, red = self love, green = vitality).

Place herbs in different places depending on their correspondences, so they can work a little magic.

Nature edition

Most of us bedridden peeps don’t have an awesome bed setup like this, and our nature exposure can be limited. However, here’s some tips and tricks to staying connected to nature while stuck in bed, with contributions from myself

Open a window, or crack the curtains

Hang rainbow prisms in your window

Keep a houseplant nearby

If regular houseplants require too much energy: Try cacti, succulents, lucky bamboo, or spiderplants!

Hang nature/forest/plant artwork around

Get air freshener or room spray that reminds you of the outdoors

Watch a nature documentary or shows with people exploring nature – check out nature (photography) videos on Netflix for calming videos

Listen to forest soundscapes [X]

Set a nature scene as your screensaver

Keep a jar of soil around

Talk with any nature deities you work with

Follow nature blogs

Get sheets, blankets, or pillowcases with leafy designs, flower designs, etc.

Get a star map app on your phone to be more connected to the night sky

Have a vase of flowers (real or fake)

Keep crystals around that remind you of nature (Moss agate, petrified wood, onyx, selenite, agate geodes, etc.)

Use sigils designed to connect you to nature

Use air conditioning or a fan to make it less stuffy in your room

Read and write poetry about nature

Press plants/flowers or hang dried herbs by your bed

Spend some time looking outside of your window

Burn a nature scented candle or incense (Irish moss, myrrh, frankincense, opium, and lavender)

Use astral travel or dream magic to get to outdoor areas

Watch livestream videos of outdoor areas

Make a sachet of grass, oak bark (or whatever tree you like), quartz, and salt. Hang it near your bed.

With help from others:

Get someone to collect rainwater for you, and use it to wash your face

Ask a friend to take some pictures of cool places they go in nature and send them to you

Have someone collect rocks/plants/feathers etc. from each day and bring them back for you

Have someone pick wildflowers for you

Drink some herbal tea

Have someone you trust harvest wild edibles/berries for you – or at least bring fresh fruits and veggies!

Skype or video chat with someone while they’re outside

Take the scenic route/detour to some natural areas the next time you need a car ride

Stale energy edition

Anyone who’s been stuck in bed knows how quickly that stale feeling can build up! Here’s some tips (both witchy and non) for clearing some of that unwanted energy. Thank you

Open a window.

Hang wind chimes outside.

Hang a rainbow prism by your window, let the light cleanse your room.

Keep a small fan.

Flip over your blankets and pillows.

Use a Himalayan salt lamp.

Clean one area per day (can be minuscule or massive)

Let the moon wash over your room.

Burn candles, let the flame burn away any unwanted energy

Make a spritz with scented herbs or infused water.

Let the weather cleanse your room, no matter what it may be.

Manipulate the energy with your hands.

Do at least one hygienic thing per day.

Set out a bowl of water to absorb the energy, dispose accordingly.

Wash all of your bedding, place some cleansing sigils or herbs underneath your mattress.

Wash yourself, even if it’s just with a cloth.

Speak out loud (or communicate in some form) what things you would like to invite into your space.

Use a wax melter with some cheery scents.

Get a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Play music.

Burn incense, as the smoke wafts around the room let it push away any unwanted energy.

Visualize a light clearing out the energy.

Switch which side of the bed your lying on.

When it rains, imagine the rain washing away or drawing out the energy.

Laughter is the best medicine. Watch a funny or heartwarming movie that makes you feel content.

Keep a jar and write down anything you want to let go of. Destroy accordingly.

Change what clothes you’re wearing every couple of days.

Hold a crystal and imagine it sending out positive energy.

So many, many other things!

Worship edition

Sometimes as someone who is stuck in one spot, it can be hard to feel connected to your gods/goddesses/deities. However, it’s not as hard as you may think to find some solid methods! Please note that your deities understand your situation and don’t expect you to suffer for them or consistently do things for them!

Burn candles or incense that remind you of them. If you are unable to do this, try an oil diffuser or room spray.

Use blankets, sheets, pillows, etc. that have colors you associate with them.

Make an online devotional blog or altar. I do this [X]

Chat with other people who work with them.

If your body is okay with it, eat foods that are sacred/connected to them.

Hang pictures or decorations that correspond with their sacred animals, plants, or what lessons or teachings they present to you.

Write devotional poetry, or make drawings for them.

Draw sigils for them and hang them on your walls, ceiling, or put under your mattress.

Find a stuffed animal that you feel captures their essence or reminds you of them, and hold it close when you need the support.

Research them/browse their tag on tumblr.

Keep stones and crystals you associate with them near you – on a bedside table or under your pillow.

Use astral travel or dream magic to connect with them.

Listen to music that makes you feel closer to them.

Watch shows or movies that remind you of them.

Pray to them, talk to them, write them a letter. Stay in communication with them, especially in times of need.

Meditate.

Drink something warm or cool that helps you connect with them.

Make a spell bottle/jar that you feel captures their essence. Charge during good days, use for connection and support during the not-so-good days.

Make emoji spells to feel more connected to them.

Expose yourself to natural light (or gentle artificial light) or complete darkness, depending on the deity.

Devote small, everyday tasks to them. (Example for the Greek + Roman pantheon.)

Read books about them, or that remind you of them/their values.

Make herb sachets for them, keep them under your pillow or hang on your wall.

Wear scented oils, perfumes, lotions, or pick a shampoo with a scent or ingredients that make you think of them.

@thewitchofthenorse also has a post on this here!

And here is a post about nature connection while bedridden, which is great for nature deities!

Again, please note that you don’t need to do anything to be connected to your gods/goddesses/deities. They know and understand what you are going through, and are patient.

Divination edition

Ideas for practicing divination while bedridden: Varying in energy + mobility required - please don’t push yourself, hopefully there’s options for everyone! Quick note: I’ve only included forms of divination I personally do.

Tarot:

Sleep with the deck under your pillow.

Do a two-card (or more!) spread - you don’t have to lay it out if you can’t sit up, you can hold them in your hand or place on your lap.

Pick one card that represents what you want from the next day and slip it under your pillow or mattress for the night.

Play around with a tarot app (I like the products from Labyrinthos but there’s loads out there.)

Memorize the meanings of the cards.

Make or buy a mini deck for easier use.

Do the easy “find this card and whatever is above or below it =X” spreads.

Scrying:

Use a black mirror or picture frame with black cloth/paper behind it.

Get a mini scrying bowl and fill with water, cradle it in your hands.

Pendulum:

Wear it around your neck.

Shorten the string so you don’t have to sit up.

Prop your hand on a pillow if you need the strength/steadiness.

Use off of the side of your bed if it’s too long (this can be a bit awkward)

Keep it under your pillow.

Use a mini pendulum or a necklace as a pendulum.

Make a simple board or don’t use one at all, just condition your pendulum with basic movements.

*You CAN use a pendulum even with shaky hands, it just takes a bit of bonding and conditioning.*

Tasseomancy:

Get a mug with two handles.

Keep in a sealable container until you’re ready.

Put a towel over yourself in case you spill.

Use a Tupperware container. No shame.

Other ideas + Posts

Automatic writing

Oneiromancy - Interpretation of dreams in order to predict future.

Stitchomancy - Get a book. Ask question, then open book to random page and read what pops out to you.

This awesome post

Note: I didn’t include runes because I don’t use them! I’d love to see an addition with runes.

Winter edition

For winter/ice witches! I tried to keep this fairly location neutral - so hopefully you find some helpful things even if you live someplace that doesn’t get snow/cold!

Create strands of pine cones to hang from your ceiling.

Collect a jar of snow so you can always have snow water nearby.

Drink things like seasonal tea, hot cocoa and apple cider.

Burn pine/spruce/wintery scented candles.

Get/make a small wreath and keep it indoors!

Use ice cubes to connect to the cold.

Keep clear quartz and snowflake obsidian around.

Make paper snowflakes! Or find an app/website where you can do a digital one.

Use your heat to draw sigils on frosted windows.

Put a bird feeder outside your window so you get winter visitors!

Use sigils that connect you to snow.

Get empty glass ornaments and fill them with herbs/pine needles/things that remind you of winter and hang them around.

Wear shimmery blue or white nail polish.

Check out the winter decor section of thrift stores when you make it out of bed! (Or have someone send you pictures).

Check out seasonal themed/winter aesthetic blogs.

White fairy lights!

Keep your curtains open during a full moon.

Wind chimes remind me of everything. Including! Winter.

Get some cute little snow globes.

Decorate with winter colors! White, blue, silver, grey, dark green, etc.

Use essential oils like mint and cinnamon.

Listen to music that reminds you of winter/snow falling. Try instrumentals.

Open the window for a minute to feel the cold air (do this early in the morning if you live somewhere warm).

Pastel edition

This one is a little less ‘practical’ and more to get into a certain vibe, despite feeling gross while stuck in bed!

Set up:

Hang a crystal prism by your window, let it scatter rainbows around the room.

Get a Himalayan salt lamp.

Decorate with floral designs.

Hang wind chimes outside

Get thin, pale pink or white curtains to help make the lighting more gentle.

Put fairy lights along the top of your room.

Plant flowers in a windowsill planter.

Get tea-light holders that project designs.

Hang scarves or other draping cloths from the ceiling.

Get a floral/pale-colored bedspread.

Put a bird-feeder outside so you can watch them!

To do:

Play with spare bits of energy in the room. Imagine them turning light and release them to help cleanse your room.

Make rose sugar (dry the petals, then layer them in a jar with sugar. Store for a month or so out of the sunlight).

Draw sigils in pale colors and put them on the walls/under your pillow.

Keep bouquets of flowers. When they start to die, hang them on your ceiling to dry.

Read gentle poetry books. Turn them into spells.

Spritz your hair or body with rose water.

Put a few drops of essential oil on a safe vessel and let it’s scent waft around your room.

Burn faintly sweet candles.

Make beaded/crystal chains and hang them around your room, using color and crystal correspondences.

Listen to soothing music.

Burn pink, white, and silver candles.

Keep rose quartz everywhere. Make one into a necklace.

Drink sweet herbal teas - be strategic with correspondences.

Watch the clouds through your window.

Try this lovely visualization technique.

Get scented (or not) wipes to help feel clean even on tough days.

Make moon water for all phases, not just the full moon.

Whisper blessings to the birds that fly by.

Keep amethyst, quartz, rose quartz, and selenite around to help soothe you.

Make a sachet with rose petals, basil, rose/quartz, and a drop of your favorite essential oil for a boost of self-love when needed.

Be gentle on yourself!

Love edition

For all the bedridden love witches out there. Just because you’re stuck in one place, doesn’t mean your love must be stuck as well.

Hang dried roses and bouquets from the ceiling

Burn sweetly scented incense

Keep a bowl of crystals nearby: rose quartz, jade, citrine, amethyst.

Hang fairy lights around the room

Spray your pillow and bedding with rose or lavender water

Sleep with the Lovers tarot card underneath your pillow

Keep a bouquet of flowers near your bed (fake ones count too!)

Draw sigils for attracting love and positivity on your walls and windows

Watch sappy romance movies

Keep love-drawing foods nearby for spells or snacks! Think dried strawberries, apples, etc.

Enchant your salt lamp to fill the room with love whenever it warms up

Soak roses/lavender/mint in water to make a cleansing body spray

Keep packets of sugar to sweeten whatever you desire (your day, your words, someone’s attitude)

Tea!!!

Keep a jar of the coins you find on the street for luck in love

Enchant wind chimes to spread love to whoever hears them

Hang mirrors to capture beautiful moments, and your beautiful face!

Write your wishes on a bay leaf and place it under your pillow

Keep a ceramic bowl with lavender, and add a few drops of your desired essential oil with whispered words

Glitter.

Hang your favorite jewelry pieces along one wall, enchant them/glamourize them when you can.

Listen to songs that make you feel powerful and seductive

Keep moonwater from every phase

Hide little hearts around the room, infused with different energies that you get whenever you remember and notice them.

Write poetry

Work with any deities connected to love/romance if you feel called to them

Keep easy to maintain plants (like succulents or airplants) and nourish them with your love.

Wear makeup and fancy clothes for yourself

Hang deep colored curtains and scarves everywhere (or pastel, you do you!)

Listen to ambiance tracks that lighten up the room (birdsong, waterfall, a cafe, etc.)

Assign a candle to each person you care about, and burn it when you’re thinking of them to send good energy their way.

Garden edition

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Being bedridden and having a garden are two things that don’t mix”. And you’re right, it does make it hard to have a traditional, outdoor garden. But, there are plenty of ways to bring the garden in!

Bringing bits of your existing garden in:

Jars of your garden soil.

Give the smaller, weaker plants you pulled a second chance!

Make a terrarium using soil, rocks, water and plants from your garden.

Dry flowers and herbs from your garden in your bedroom.

Keep containers of seeds from your plants nearby.

Creating an accessible garden (inside):

If you don’t have good lighting, get a grow light. There’s bulbs that screw into normal lamps if you don’t have space for one of the bar lights. [X]

The seed-starter trays are a super simple system and often have trays underneath so it’s okay if you miss a day of watering.

Also consider: Eggshells

Window garden boxes are awesome, but not realistic for a lot of people (including myself).

Planting your plants in plastic pots can be an easy way to control their environment and ensure they’re getting enough root space (plus if you’ve done any gardening before you’ll have tons, please don’t go out of your way to buy plastic products!).

Place a bowl or tupperware container underneath each pot/planter so water doesn’t drip and you can fill them up so the plants become self-watering.

Self-watering pots also exist.

If a watering can isn’t realistic, use a pitcher or a gallon jug.

What to grow?

These plants can (easily) regrow in a couple inches of water: Scallions, Lettuce, Garlic Sprouts, Basil, Lemon Grass.

These herbs do well inside: Basil, Lemon Balm, Mint, Chives.

These herbs do okay inside: Oregano, Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme.

These flowers do well inside: Begonias, Jasmine, African Violet, Christmas Cactus, Mini Roses.

These flowers do okay inside: Marigold, Pansy, Geranium, Impatiens.

Cacti, succulents and air plants are all very low maintenance as long as you have enough lighting!

Witchy things to do:

Influence seedlings with different energies and see which grow fastest.

Use sigils to help your plants grow well.

Using correspondences, make a tea or cold-infusion with herbs based on your needs.

Put crystals with your plant babies.

Make bouquets with your flowers based on their magical properties, and enchant them! You can dry them too.

Water your plants with different types of water (moon, sun, rain, stream, storm, etc.)

Let watering/caring for your plants help nourish you.

Make infused oils.

Make a terrarium that mimics your home/garden and use it to bless/ward your home.

Decorate your pots/containers with color correspondences, sigils and witchy art!

Use your plant’s energy to help gain growth, warmth and energy from the sun and soil.

Plant seeds when starting new things and to bring change into your life.

When you tend them, focus on what they represent.

When you’re ready to move on, or take the next step - harvest the plants if that’s realistic. If not, allow them to be a reminder of what you’ve worked for.

Allow the magic of growth and life to enter your home!

Bath edition

For many of us, taking baths/showers is physically exhausting or impossible. Here are some ways to incorporate bath magic into your life without actually taking a bath or leaving bed!

Using wipes:

Wipes come in a variety of types, making them perfect. There’s usually a good fit for everyone, I personally enjoy the Burt’s Bees brand. I use correspondences to give my wipe-down a little oomph! I’m making this Burt’s Bees specific but you get the idea!

Cotton: Purity, healing, luck, protection.

Cucumber and Sage: Recovery, growth, soothing. Protection, cleansing, wishes.

Grapefruit: Cleansing, purification, energizing, healing.

Peach: Vitality, love, longevity.

White Cypress: Grounding, purification, soothing.

White Tea: Cleansing, clarity, blessings, glamour.

You can also draw sigils on the packaging, charge it with crystals, place the package in the sun/moonlight, etc.

Using washcloths/hand towels:

When I’m stuck in bed for a while, I keep a stack of washcloths and a vessel of water nearby so I can wash my arms and legs, or to put on my forehead to cool down. There’s a couple different ways to make this witchy!

Color correspondences for the washcloths themselves.

Use water charged in the sun/moon, or rain/storm water.

Charge your water with crystals or sigils.

If you put the crystals in the water, which is not required, here is a list of crystals that cannot go in water:  [X] [X]

Infuse your water with some herbs beforehand.

If I’m placing it on my forehead, I’ll add a couple drops of diluted essential oils.

Using a spray bottle:

Sometimes you just gotta mist yourself, which is especially helpful for the hair or days when it’s stuffy.

I love adding some herbs or a bit of rosewater into the spraybottle.

Once again, you can use sun/moon and rain/storm water.

You can also charge the bottle with crystals or sigils.

I like to say a little chant: “Like the rains cleanse the earth, let this water cleanse me/my body/my mind”.

Sometimes I just spritz myself with rosewater.

Other things:

Dry shampoo. Use to refresh, glamorize, etc. Charge it beforehand if you so desire.

Lotion. Use to rejuvenate, heal, etc. Scent/ingredient correspondences!

Deodorant. Charge, scent correspondences, you get the idea!

Brushing your teeth. If you can’t make it to the bathroom, I like to keep a travel sized kit by my bed and spit into a cup (definitely different than the one I drink from). Don’t underestimate the cleansing and refreshing powers of brushing your teeth!

Anything else you can think of!

Low energy + ingredient magic for in the tub:

Pour some Epsom salts in there. Bonus points if they’re infused with anything. You know the deal, correspondences. You can also do this for a hand/foot soak if you’re able to access the floor and have a bowl!

Plop some tea bags in the bath. Mint really helps me with migraines and stomach stuff! You can also place them over your eyes/on your forehead.

Essential oils. I like to put a couple of drops in a bowl on the edge of the tub, it works really well with steam!

Simple shower spell/glamour

Soak in positivity: a magical bath

Cleansing negativity shower chant

Weather edition

Keep jars of water from different types of weather nearby.

Create a page of sigils, one for each type of weather.

Try to guess the forecast for the day, then check it!

Burn rain scented candles, or ones that remind you of certain types of weather.

Utilize herbs and woods that are connected to weather magic [X].

Draw energy from whatever weather is happening outside.

Read/write poetry that makes you feel the weather.

Hang wind chimes and flags outside your window so you can easily tell the changes in wind.

Put a rain gauge in sight of your window.

Enchant a snow globe to bring snow.

Listen to ambiance tracks that sound like the rain or a storm.

Use the raindrops on the window as a form of divination.

Make a file with videos and gifs of different weather and pull it up when you need to.

Use a glass of water to summon/dispel rain.

Make bottles for types of weather, shake to bring it and tap to dispel it.

Watch YouTube videos on different types of clouds and how they’re formed.

Use different weather’s waters for scrying, cleansing, or flinging something into manifestation.

Use a super in-depth weather app.

Leave small offerings to weather/storm deities if it fits your craft.

Create a terrarium that resembles your area, and add things to manipulate the environment.

Open your window!

Use a map to draw weather certain places.

Create art for your favorite types of weather

Discreet edition.

I realize not every witch has the luxury of being open about their craft, and this can be doubly hard when you’re restricted to your bed and often reliant on others. Not all of these may work for you, but may they inspire you all the same!

*If you are reliant on a caregiver who may not approve of witchcraft, please be extra cautious.* There are plenty of ways to practice that don’t put your care and health in jeopardy, and some of the things listed may put you at risk. Please use common sense! <3

Online:

Keep your grimoire in a document or on the notes in your phone.

Make an altar on Pinterest, a tumblr sideblog, in a video game, etc.

Apps! Keep track of the lunar cycle, look at the night sky, use a candle app, pull some tarot cards, draw some sigils.

Emoji spells.

Witchy playlists.

Cleansing:

Open your window

Let the sun or moon wash over you

Manipulate the energy with your hands

Burn incense (or a scented candle), as the smoke wafts around the room let it push away any unwanted energy.

Visualization.

Listen to music that makes you feel calm, channel that.

Lots of ideas on this post (Bedridden witch: Stale energy edition)

Warding:

Draw sigils using water

VISUALIZATION + energy manipulation

Make a witches bottle that looks like something else

Make/enchant a room spray that boosts protection (and smells good!)

Keeping magic items nearby:

Slowly changing your interests can allow you to have many things without raising suspicion. (Herbal remedies/tea blending = access to herbs, geology + the love of pretty rocks = access to crystals, jars of dirt, etc.). Additionally, the New Age/witchcraft aesthetic seems to be all the rage these days, which normalizes it as a thing many people just incorporate into their interior design!

Keep sigils in your pillowcase or under your mattress

Keep crystals in your pillowcase or nearby (crystals are becoming a common thing to just have/decorate with)

Herb/spell sachets under your pillow/nearby. I used to have one that was stuffed full of lavender but had crystals and sigils hidden in the center.

Make and keep sun/moon water in a waterbottle.

Ways to connect to the elements (often through decorating/mundane objects) can be found in this post!

Candles are great, real or fake! I like the fake ones because if I forget about it/don’t have the energy to access it, the worst thing that happens is the battery dies.

EO diffusers and Himalayan salt lamps.

Plants!!

Performing magic and the like:

Meditation, dream magic, astral projection.

Energy manipulation: Keep an energy source nearby and draw from it when you need it/to cast small spells, enchantments, blessings, etc. Manipulate the energy in the air.

Visualization can be a powerful thing.

Enchant items in your room.

Plant magic! Bedridden ideas in this post.

Drink magic and enchantments are great, and teas often have correspondences already based on their blends!

Divination:

Tarot: use a mini deck, an app, playing cards or small two card spread that are easy to conceal under a blanket.

Scrying: use a small picture frame with a black background, a small bowl of water or your phone screen.

Pendulum: they can be pretty easy to conceal! But you could also use one that doesn’t look like a pendulum, a necklace, or anything tied to a string.

You could also do automatic writing, shufflemancy, dice divination or stitchomancy.

Lots of ideas for bedridden divination in this post!

General edition

3b5xl6.gif

The setup:
?-Sigils placed under your mattress for pain-free rest and anything else you need!
?-Place crystals under your pillow (or in the case) for restful sleep or a specific use. I often place amethyst and Quartz under my pillow for headaches!
?-Hang herb sachets above your bed.
?-Keep any supplies you want nearby in case you become bedridden.

Bedridden witchy things:
?-Play with spare bits of energy in the room.
?-Listen to music that makes you feel witchy/powerful.
?-Wash your face with a pre-prepared cleansing spray (add herbs and such).
?-If possible, open a window for at least five minutes and soak in the sensations of the outside world.
?-Read a witchy book/write in your grimoire.
?-Hold your crystals or keep them near you.
?-Washing your sheets/blankets/pillow case = the ultimate cleanse.
?-Meditate and work on breathing.
?-Spend some time with your tarot cards or pendulum (you don’t have to use them though!).
?-Do some dream magick.
?-Drink some herbal tea.

Remember, your witchiness isn’t based on your ability to practice all the time. It’s perfectly acceptable to take as long as you need when you aren’t feeling great.
