How Psychedelics work

@pluto It’s relative to the person and involves many variables. I’ve met people who cured their neurosis and spiritually expanded with psychedelics. And yesterday, I took a walk in a park with a woman who ended up in a psychiatric hospital for an extended period after a bunch of trips. . .

is she ok now?

Yep. She got deeply involved in expression through the art of nature. She will go deep into nature for weeks and paint all day long. The way she described her conscious states sounded like psychedelic states. That’s how the topic came up. I was like “there is more than brush strokes going on here. This gal must be trippin”. So I asked her. . . When I said her descriptions sounded like psychedelic-induced states, she paused and reflected and said that her prior lsd use may have opened up doors of perception which now allows her access to dimensions she would otherwise access.

@Keyhole She did mention she has an etsy site for her work. I will ask her for the link. She’s actually leaving for a two week trip today, so I’m not sure how responsive she will be.

One thing you might find interesting. She talked about the aliveness of plants/trees and how she tries to channel that into her paintings. I mentioned communicating with plants/trees and I kinda lost her. So I think she has more of a deep appreciation and sense of shared beingness in nature.

@Shiva I’d love it if more scientists tripped. It would make our science conferences so much more interesting ☺️

@Serotoninluv @Nahm Excuse my choice in words. I was just being poetic and explaining another perspective on how the psychedelic experience/effect can be seen. I am aware of these things and the technical stuff. Excuse my creativity.

Of course you can

@pluto You’re good. Sometimes my mind has difficulty flipping from technical to creative.

If anyone wants to know how to create a psychedelic experience without psychedelics just me if you want more info.

I’ve trained myself to become more conscious of subconscious experiences in my brain, now I’ve reached a point where my brain spontaneously creates imagery and general experiences that reflect what could be described as “psychedelic artwork”.

To me it’s a shame that people believe that such states are reserved to those who have taken psychedelics, there’s so much more we can do with training and learning more about ourselves.

All I did for my own training was to close my eyes, describe any patterns that I saw in my spontaneous imagination and then that was it. Overtime the experiences become more and more “psychedelic” in the way described above in this comment.

I’ve never taken psychedelics but plan to towards the end of the year.
