@Yonkon Correct, but: 

  • You choose your own thoughts (not affirmations)
  • It's not necessary to write them down but for me it works best
  • You don't have to look into a mirror
  • After that it's life changing PLUS you are more aware of your (positive - neutral & negative) thoughts
  • Deleting your negative thoughts: you can do this already when you are aware enough of your thoughts. After a negative though you have to think "erase" or "delete" ;)
