Not exatcly atral projection - what do you call this?

6 posts in this topic

So I've done this since I was a little girl. I will imagine a space from my memory and picture every single detail of this space.

For example I will, while meditating, think of my childhood bedroom. I will picture myself inside this room (I think I have a very "photographic" memory) and I will image every single detail I can remember of the room - from the stains on the walls to the clutter in the corner of the room. The more I meditate and think of this space in detail, the more i feel like I'm actually in this room.

I realize from what I've read about astral projection that this isn't the same as astral projection, but it definitely feels like I am inside of whatever space I image - so what would I call this?

Thanks for reading.

Hi! I would simply call it visualisation. Certainly does not sound like astral projection to me.

There is a fine line between what you are doing and astral projection.

I did an astral projection about 2 weeks ago. I projected myself into my fiances bedroom and whispered in her ear. She told me the next day she felt me in her room and told me exactly what I whispered. Its definitely legit.

If you are interested in developing clairvoyant abilities, I suspect you would do well. If you do work on them, make sure you purify yourself of attachments and aversions with meditation as you develop it or it can lead to issues.

I guess it's detailed visualization transiting  into self hypnosis. I have some similar experiences with hypnagogic state. When  I visualize things and then the things I just was visualizing become hypnagogic hallucinations (the ones that  happen when you are falling asleep).   So if you do it lying in bed you can use it to have out of body experience  or  a lucid dream. Not sure about astral projection though but it shouldn't be very different.

@tom rAy That is astral projection. You should research it a bit. You can do some interesting things with it.

People think its just imagination until they see things and know things they couldnt possibly see otherwise. Visualization is key in how you do energy work, magick, various occult techniques, etc. A foundational principle in the occult is that it starts with visualizing but can turn into something real. Once someone understands this principle and how to use it, a lot of options open up.

Even as science confirms, consciousness creates reality. Just more so than most people realize.
