Keep in mind that the thing that Mohammed was criticising about Christianity back then is that Christians interpreted their texts literally.

Jesus taught his people that the relationship between God and humans is like the relationship between a father and his son: He is the father and I am the son.

The mistake Christians did is that they believed that God literally had a son. Mohammed told them that all of that is metaphorical, and that God does not actually have a son.

Islam was meant to make a correction for the interpretations of Christianity. It turned out to be the same. Most scholars interpret the Quran literally. And so here we are.

Ironically, by interpreting the Quran literally, God must be male, since most verses refer to It as 'He' or 'Him'.

You can certainly ask your guru, but why not ask Allah directly instead? He answered my prayers and showed me the Truth. He will answer your prayers too.

(Guess it saved me from literal translation then?)

But I think the Quran is very easy to understand. It's very direct in conveying it's messages.

But you know, just wanna compare the answer to someone else. Just to make sure. Double check with your gurus and others.

Btw if you read surah Al-Ikhlas (The Purity of Faith) you won't misinterpret something silly like God is a he or she. Haha
