Need some advice

7 posts in this topic

How can I as a 16 year old begin self actualization , I been doing meditation for a while now and also been reading some of the books in his book list . But I can't help but feel like I could be doing more or rather , I have so much free time on my hands especially because it's a summer i dont have a job . I wake up every day with nothing to do just mindlessly using my phone if I do get bored I usually put my phone down and think about things I want to achieve and that makes me excited and pumped up . But at the end of the day I end up finding something to distract my self with . I also have few friends which sometimes I go over their house but not as much anymore , I guess I just want to spend my time wisely and make the most of it doing something that will benefit and grow me. And yes I have watched Leo's video advice on college students high schoolers but most of it is not practical in day to day I've also done online dating so I'm not completely oblivious in fact I think I have changed since before I found this channel behaviors and patterns but I feel like am not where I want to be.

@Bryanbrax Here's a short list:

  • Learn how to make eye contact and how to listen while talking to people
  • Start practicing self-inquiry
  • Clean up your diet (ditch trash food)
  • Quit porn
  • Exercise

@Bryanbrax

This will sound anti-spiritual, but I'll suggest it anyway; lose the task list for some time and do whatever you want.

Suck the joy out of the things you're addicted to until you start getting bored by them. And then you will discover that they were meaningless from the beginning, and that you were deluding yourself.

Be where you want to be. Don't chase it, just do it.

@ajasatya Why quitting porn?

I can't grasp how 16 year olds get into this! It's quite fascinating. @Bryanbrax you should be proud.?

When i was your age all i thought about was puss.

I would suggest journaling or making a vision board. Both would be best! Just lay out whatever is in your head and follow your feelings. Self-honesty would have been my best friend at age 16.

Because porn can ruin your sexual life. Porn teaches an extremely ill way of dealing with intimate moments.

Interesting. Thanks.

I've never been in bed with a woman yet, so I have no idea.
