Is the Psychedelic Experience a Spiritual Experience?

Greetings,

Somehow i started thinking about how Psychedelica is connected to spirituality. Is a psychedelic experience always a spiritual experience and vice versa? In my experience both are deeply intertwined and highly similar.

When i crave a psychedelic experience, do i secretly crave for more spirituality? 

I am interested in your perspectives.

But seriously, psychedelics don't always give deeper insights, but have high potential to. It took like 8 trips for me to actually recognize anything. Most of the time prior my time on it was spent socializing, looking at trippy content, visuals, music, wanking etc

The experience unlocks a gate you are free to go through.. Or not.
