Given that the present moment has no duration, how is movement and change possible?

This question arose after reading a trip report. As the present moment is without any duration, how is it possible to perceive change or something like an object moving from one place to another?

@Shaun that is all form - imagination.

The present moment is the formless - it can't be captured.  Can only BE it.

Maybe It's not that present moment has no duration but that it is eternal.?

Take a movie and lay out all of its frames. We move from one moment to the next and it looks like a movie. Of course all moments exist simiultaneously with no separation.

The fps of the movie is infinity.

Definitely ties in with it in my experience.

@Shaun  that's exactly it

YOU ARE THE UNMOVING that senses and sees all movement.

and the silence that senses and hears all the sounds.

the stillness thru which time moves.

YOU are the TV SCREEN on which shows/movies/life is playing.

the TV is always eternal.. outside of time/place which appear on it.

these are all concepts of course :)

The space is composed of points and the point is a fake area with zero space, so how it come that the sum of thease  points of zero area will be a space in which we live as well as in the time line is the sum of many time singularity  The present moment has No time and no duration How can we live in this imaginary space-time

I think perceived continuity is what creates the illusion of time. But I have yet to pinpoint when I started doing that. ?

The present moment IS change. It never stops. Change is not about duration at all. Change is primary, time is secondary (inferred or constructed).

@Preetom has the answer: memory.

The present moment IS memory. Without it you wouldn't exist; no continuity, no recognition, no nothing.

The present moment is woven from Change, Memory and a myriad other sensations. But they are not discreet in themselves, they are all ONE and the same flow of the present moment. We just like to play games and divide up the present moment into discreet 'things'.

Instead of seeing the present moment as having no duration, you can also see it has being infinitely long. Then you can have all change and movements within it.

It is not possible to perceive change. Change is an illusion, so is any 'object', 'place' and 'another'.
Note that anything you term 'memory' is always happening in the present moment.
Memory is indistinguishable from imagination and ultimately unverifiable by any measure.

@Shaun

There is no present moment, no change, and no movement. None of those are possible.

You are more awesome than you have realized.

Forgetting is more encompassing than you have realized.

Creating is more fun, more intrinsic, and more automatic, than you have realized.

Attention on the thoughts you have been inattentive to allows unification, wholeness.

Forgiveness and letting go are more powerful than you have realized.
