Leo/Mods please stop locking threads.

Here's an idea @Leo Gura, I wonder about your thoughts on this.
What if you opened a subforum for meta-discussions, where users could comment on the actions of moderators?

It would be a disaster in any place other than a self-actualization forum.
In fact, it is a way for the forum itself to self-actualize.

@Truth Addict It's not about the qualms of any particular user.
It's about the forum's ability, as a collective ego, to self-actualize.

Your quarrels are too small to have any impact when functioning as a forum. However, if this was to turn into a society... you would surely be able to voice your opinion. But what is the definition of a society 

50,000 people ... 100,000 people ... .?      15,000 ?  

i always personally say that changes should always be made earlier than later. But to be honest there is still another 20-30 years before actualise.org picks up. Right now we are all just cruising in cruise control mode, chilling.

I'm addressing those that have the power to close threads, especially Leo. I do not recommend full freedom but a structured rule system that if circumvented the thread must get closed. I see a lot of times emotions of superiority directing the choices of the moderators outwiting the free expression of spirit from unconsciousness to consciousness. I do not see the purpose of this forum when someone is making a legit question like :what is authority? and Leo answering, go contemplate and then proceed to close the thread.thesis and antithesis welcomes synthesis. The power of contemplation is absolute I agree but some people have to start from the start. Please Leo consider the suggestion of rearranging a rule system more in tune to where you are when in full lucidity. Thank you

The forum is a privilege, not a right. Nor is it a democracy. The rules are clearly spelled out. This whole forum is one big mental masturbation distraction to the real work of self actualization. I wouldn't take it so serious. If you have legit questions to further your path to Awakening, I'm sure someone will attempt to answer.

This reminds me of a student that comes to class without reading the book. Then interrupts class discussion to ask “What was the book about?” And then gets upset when the teacher tells him to do his homework and read the book. ? 

(You do realize that Leo just put a lot of time and effort into producing today’s video on authority, right?).

Personal development takes work and effort. If one isn’t willing to watch an hour video and post their impressions and questions, they shouldn’t be starting threads asking people that have actually watched the video to explain the video. It detracts from people that are genuinely putting in time and effort to learn and develop. This isn’t a classroom of entitlement and spoon feeding.

This is not a place for babysitting. Self-responsibility is something everyone should aim for. Read the forum guidelines for more info.

Impossible to implement, but I wish this forum had some kind of screening process for new threads. Take this one, this very issue has been discussed and discussed in recent times to be blunt (sorry OP).

There could perhaps be an auto-lock facility where threads complaining about locked threads automatically get locked as soon as the original poster hits "submit" or whatever it is. That way they don't have to wait for a mod to lock it, it gets locked straight off the bat. Everyone wins, even the original poster wins as he can use it as a free lesson and learning curve.

Threads get locked because they require locking. Just say that to yourself as a mantra and your life will get better I promise.

I have merged two similar threads about thread locks.

For those wanting to complain about thread locks, please read over the forum guidelines and use this thread, rather than starting new threads on this topic.

@ajasatya I'm all for responsibility and I totally agree with the attitude you are proposing. I'm not asking for babysitting, I'm asking for mitigation of what I feel is sometimes unfair.

   Hi, I'm the one that got thread locked. I do agree that maybe the forum must change in the future, but understand this: the real issue is not that moderators or Leo himself is over exerting authority over posters, it's my low quality post/semi ran. I still am dealing with whatever negative experiences I had with self-inquiry, and I vented it out.

    What Leo did was the right decision, and I apologize for any disruption in that thread I caused with my intellectual masturbatory rant. So don't do what I did and go do real personal development work. Go take a break even in case it gets too much. Thanks for reading.

Imagine a skilled teacher has spent dozens of hours preparing a formal presentation that he offers free to the public. After the presentation, there is a Q and A discussion between teacher and audience. Someone who comes in late (and misses the presentation), disrupts the discussion by asking “What was the presentation about?”. It would be totally appropriate for the teacher to respond “Next question please”.

If you don't like their work even after a discussion you eventually have to decide if it's an environment for you or not. Don't seek to mold it to your desire.

   Okey, how about this, as a temporary rule to follow: every new video that Leo posts, spend a whole month contemplating, taking notes and light research. Still confused? Formulate a long, specific question, then post to the appropriate sub forum.

   You could also pm a mod you trust, or even Leo, your one question, if you want to. If there's ego backlash, anger, confusion, depression, Bordem, any strong negative emotions and strong negative thinking behind This, ideally take a couple weeks break and reflect. If you have someone you trust who knows what your going through, communicate to them. Otherwise, don't enter actualized.org until you calmed down.

   I intuite this to be the 20% effort needed to reduce 80% of thread locks.  If a thread locked is unavoidable and all due to new moderators, it's fine. Just move on. Hope this helps.
