Regarding diet:

Minimize the amount of wheat products you put in your mouth, especially bread and pasta. Rice and gluten-free oatmeal are wonderful replacements.

Drop sodas and fruit juices if you drink those. Water is so much better. Tea is fine, but expensive and pretentious.

Eat at least one plate of veggies every day. Ideally you would eat more than a plate but this is a good place to start. The darker the greens, the more nutritious. This means that kale, spinach, arugula, etc. are much better than iceberg/romaine lettuce. Throw in cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. to make the meal more appealing. Learn to LOVE this stuff. You'll never get healthy if you always chase pleasure when you eat. Spinach is a good place to start because it's the least bitter of the dark greens.

Look at the back of your food products, and throw out anything that has "high fructose corn syrup" in it. That stuff is cancer. Always check for it, because food industries sneak it into a lot of things such as ketchup and ranch dressing. If you go out to eat at a restaurant, always assume the ketchup has "high fructose corn syrup" in it.

Lastly, eliminate alcohol. If you care about health you have no business touching it.

Obviously there are a lot more things that go into this, and Leo has a full video of it here:

I just outlined the ones that I think are the most important. There are more rules to follow such as "lean meats over red meats" or "no dairy," but if you try to change too much at once you will backslide and hate yourself.

So for now, really nail down the ones I've highlighted.

Regarding fitness:

This one is tough. I don't think I can give you any good advice here without knowing 1) your goals and 2) your current shape because if I give you the wrong advice, you can end up with undesirable results or even worse you can injure yourself.

One thing I can say confidently is that I believe anyone can benefit from doing cardio a few times a week. This means bike or jog for around 10-20 minutes either every other day or every day. The frequency and duration is up to you.

If you'd like me to go into detail on this please reply with your goals and your current shape :)

I hope this helps!

Make sure to get a PT if you are starting in the gym for the first couple sessions. I see many new guys doing horrible exercises that will mess them up, using wrong weights that are too heavy putting ego in front of form.

Don't be that guy, play it smart, think long term health > short term gain.
