Being is simply the constant silence behind thoughts.

I think what I'm struggling with is ego claiming consciousness as it's new identity, it's sneaky and twisted.

Simply notice to whom these claims occur. Who is affected by these "sneaky" and "twisted" tactics?

Nice one, very precise. I think you should also put it into written form and post it underneath your video but that's just a thought.... (see what I did there-_-)

It's a good suggestion. I'm experimenting, though, with very light amounts of work attached to making and posting these videos, so that I can feel more spontaneous about posting them. And transcription is of course tedious. Will keep it in mind for the future, though.

Yeah I know its tedious, but some learn better by reading than by listening. I can't watch leo's videos they are too damn long lol. Yours was short and sweet so it really does not need a transcript...

As an experiment, I just transcribed it and added it into the video description. Yeah, probably won't do that on a regular basis, but I will certainly keep writing things on my blog, and that will serve the people who learn better by reading (and I'm one of those people, definitely).

Neato! More please.

Just a thought...lol...play the video on one device, while using voice to text on another, and you have a transcription which only needs a few corrections. Also, the phone tone is A, the background hum of the universe is C, referred to as middle C, which all sound and music is relative to.

Good idea, will have to try that.

@winterknight do you think (eherm) that being is everything else that is NOT thought? Or does being include thought? Or does thought include being?

All those questions and distinctions are also in thought.

And so they were, and yet here I am.

Are all distinctions in thought? Or are all thoughts distinctions? Is being distinct in itself or is it formless?

There's a bunch of intellectual theories I can give you if you want, though they're all varying degrees of wrong. Still, they are helpful at a certain stage.

The reality, however, is that these questions basically arise out of a misconception it is the purpose of the spiritual path, and specifically self-inquiry, to dispel.

You're are right of course I don't need theories to bring me into existence, my beingness is 'evident', with or without thought.

But, my contemplation of being IS a thought. And if being exists it surely must be contemplating itself, otherwise it wouldn't know it existed.

Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud. I'll carry on down the path...

What is the misconception BTW?

This is the common sense idea, but that’s because the common sense model of knowledge is dualistic — split between subject and object. Contemplation is a dualistic mode of knowing

Being knows itself by itself without needing the duality of contemplation.

The ingrained belief that you are a separate entity.
