Is meditation survival?

8 posts in this topic

From one point of view yes because the thing that motivates you to sit down and meditate is always ego driven. Seeking end of suffering or peace.

From another point of view no because meditation is simply being. There's no action involved.

I guess it depends where you are on path?

Meditative state is not survival mode. Survival mode is when one uses mainly the muscles and mind.

Doing nothing is the opposite of survival, if youre trying to meditate then thats another story.

Only you can decide that! Sit down and contemplate! Why are you doing meditation? What if you were told meditation would never provoke any kind of results whatsoever to do with your self or self-image. Would you still pursue or engage in meditation?

I have been meditating for 30 minutes per day.

It is. Or else many people would have gone suicidal from depression.

I'm not sure, but I get the vibe that many of you think that survival is bad or something.
