Hello everyone, I ve done some research on Datura the psychadelic plant and this seems very intriguing to me. There are some hindu cultures that use datura for occult purposes or black magic. Also the trip reports of datura seem pretty strange. I wonder it can affect our reality in a physical level i mean to manifest external events. Datura can be very dangerous though definetly not a beginner thing.

Heed this advice. I experimented with dph which is arguably much safer if you want to get into deliriants. It's not pleasant and not fun. You'd be better off doing something like Salvia if you want whacky experiences. 

Also beware of serotonin syndrome. It can be fatal.

Carlos Castaneda gives some pretty interesting narratives about Datura in Carlos Castaneda’s book Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge, though—if you are just interested. That is a fantastic book, by the way. Pdf and text is widely available for free online. It has some great stories about Datura I’m not sure it you have already read those stories...with the old sorcerer cutting Carlos’ hand and using the blood to cook a hardened doll; and teaching Carlos to bury the blood-doll with the Datura cutting in a secret location, and all that. Anyway, when Carlos consumed some of the less lethally poisonous parts of the plant, he ‘flew around’ and woke up three days later naked in some bushes by the side of a path. Castaneda suggests there was an old association between Datura and strength for murder, but Datura does not like everyone, and people end up sick for a long long time or even die—so I’ve heard.

Besides narratives, if you want hard-core ancient history of Datura, I suggest you follow a professor called Melissa Frost, of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese topics. In her dissertation, Herbs that Madden, she mentions her further interest in publishing about the ancient tradition of DATURA BATHS in Mexico region: a little known fact, but apparently it was a big thing. She has not published on it yet, though .

I say read about Datura for fun—and seriously, if you have not read Don Juan, the only thing I can compare it to is a good mushroom trip. I don't know anything about Datura from personal experience (and I am not trying to demonized it—I’m sure it has benefits) but I say, ‘No way—do not ingest Datura.’

Thank you guys no i will not take it. Datura is used in the tantric yoga to "call the dieties" they say. I highly suspect that you can come to contact with crystalised consciousness forms such as Kali. Sadhguru talks a little about this aspect of occult of tantra. This seems to be one of those thinks that make you or brake you. Working with forms such as Kali is dope though.

From my research on several psychedelics/drugs forums, Datura and similar delirants, are very risky in comparison to reward.

 

Apparently with this one the urban myth "you can actually never come back from the trip" is actually possible.

There are several lifetimes worth of material to explore within the kingdom of true psychedelics, which are orders of magnitude safer and healthier than deleriants like datura. Stay away from this sinister plant, and related pharmacological agents.

@outlandish  yea it is dangerous but at the and of the day all plants are teachers. I think there is value in datura if you work with someone who realy knows this plant like a shaman. As i said it is used by yogis in tantric tradition. I would asume you can still find people in india who know how to use it. Also there are shamans who mix datura with ayahuasca.

Yea one should not use it without guidance though.

You are right it's just highly not advised you do it when you have plenty you can learn from safer substances. I think Salvia can teach you similar lessons that datura could.

If you find a shaman you might be ok. Still might take a trip to literally hell though where a shaman cant save you.

I think salvia is more like dmt in the sense that it shoots you out of the body in other realms and in datura trip reports these people dont even know that they re tripping. They are in the body but they react to the environment very differently, for example they talk to people who are not there. They might be at home physicaly but they think they are at work and for them this seems like mondain reality. The memory of the trip is usualy vanished after the experience.

Of course, datura trips dont seem to be the scariest though. They are very wierd and strange but people dont seem to suffer it as much in comparison to other psychedelics. You will barely remember your trip. Maby thats because you suffer so much that is unbarable for the mind to remember, we realy dont know.

Not knowing that youre tripping while seeing dead bodies and insects everywhere seems pretty scary to me.

Just do shrooms, theres so much to explore there you could do just that your entire life.

@Aldo Salvia trips can send you into other realms in higher doses. Lower doses you are in your bodym But often you see what you always see but your perception of it is warped. You don't know you are tripping and completely believe what you perceive. For example my friend thought the table with all the bongs and rigs was medical equipment. It shows you the divide between what you experience and how you perceive it. (I've done 20x but I hear the more spiritual dmt aspect comes in the higher concentrations or smoking a lot) 

On dph I've seen the shadow beings and spiders. Heard the hallucinations. Authentic voices. Lost sense of balance. Falling in and out of consciousness. This could show you again how the mind hallucinates I'm just suggesting Salvia as a plausible alternative.

@Shadowraix  in low doses they seem to have some similarities actualy. Yea salvia is much safer for sure. One common thing they have is that none of them gives you a plesant experience, or very rarely does. This is one reason that people are not drown to them. People like flashy things like DMT , acid or ayahuasca, not that they are not great. I think they are great but people in general do not know the true pontential of plants like Datura.

I think that there is alot of unexplored potential of datura because in tantric tradition it is linked to lord Shiva. Those yogis dont trip to have a pleasant trip, they trip to learn and they're serious about it.

And how much experience do you have with 5-meo, DMT, LSD and Aya to call them “flashy and great” yet limited compared to a drug you have zero experience with?

You can have over 100 trips and still be getting blown away by standard psychedelics. You have no idea how deep their power and potential go. Go find out yourself with actual direct experience, rather than going off into la-la land fantasizing what it would be like to hook-up with some drug you find exotic. 

It’s like you are sitting in the parking lot of the world’s  greatest theme park, fantasizing what it would be like to ride a Triple Magnum Double Inverted Flip NonDual Realmed Monster rollercoaster on the planet Xopluxinot. . . For goodness sake, just go into the theme park and take a few actual rides.
