Greatest master of our time?

55 posts in this topic

Somewhat of a click bait title, the master is in all beings, but.. realized and lived artfully and fully in the open are few.

I think Adi Da is an amazing example, amazing, of the potential of man.

Is he perfect? It still functions through a human form, which is unpredictable, it changes, never the less, I admire this man, I see something truly extraordinary here, it's profound an beautiful.

He spoke of the highest, and importantly he lived his teaching in the open, surrounded by people, (like Ramana Maharshi as well), open to crowds of people, and did this throughout his whole enlightened life.

I'm sure he's a great guy -

That said, One should not put other Masters on a pedestal.

One should be rather focus on discovering Truth for themselves and become their own Master.

Remember to be cognizant of Oneness.

You and he are actually identical.

Wisdom.  Truth.  Love.

@AlwaysBeNice He's a shady one. Not so great.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Interesting that you like him.

I feel like people who demand others to have devotion to them are not high conscious beings. The only person you should have a devotion to is yourself and ultimately God.

Oh it's hugely off putting, but is that what he means? ;')

Hands down, Jack Kornfield.

"Jack Kornfield trained as a Buddhist monk in the monasteries of Thailand, India and Burma. He has taught meditation internationally since 1974 and is one of the key teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practice to the West.

After graduating from Dartmouth College in Asian Studies in 1967 he joined the Peace Corps and worked on tropical medicine teams in the Mekong River valley. He met and studied as a monk under the Buddhist master Ven. Ajahn Chah, as well as the Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma.

Returning to the United States, Jack co-founded the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, with fellow meditation teachers Sharon Salzberg and Joseph Goldstein and the Spirit Rock Center in Woodacre, California.

Over the years, Jack has taught in centers and universities worldwide, led International Buddhist Teacher meetings, and worked with many of the great teachers of our time. He holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and is a father, husband and activist."

'You must enter into love-communion.

So our way is characterized by, not by renunciation and self manipulation, but by a moral conversion, by natural lawful disciplines and via the continuous process of self transcendence, through love, '

This is pretty cool, I see David Spero as one of the highest most advanced teachers as well, and he has a lot of synchronistic connection with Adi Da.

David Spero was born in Rhode Island, close to NYC where Adi Da was born.

David Spero sometimes mentioned himself to be an avatar as well, one of the few teachers who does so, you can say it's saying yourself to be special, which they are, but it also means going through the stages very quickly, being very mature or developed at birth, even spiritually in experiences.

But aside from this, funnily enough, in teaching style or personality wise, they are like complete opposites.

Adi Da loved being a leader, an authority, being hard at times, strict on the process and discipline.

David Spero is all about chillness, relaxing, beauty, being sweet, stated he hates stating things authoritatively.
