Imagine walking down a flight of stairs and you consider to stop and look out of the window.

As you stop, you consider what if I never stopped to look out the window and continued walking down these stairs.

You can become conscious of yourself splitting into two different realities.

In one reality you walk down the stairs and in current reality you stop to stare outside the window. 

You have gone one way, but your spirit another.
