Rational Gaze

8 posts in this topic

Squint your eyes to see clearly. Blur reality to make it real
Let focus go from your deceiving eyes to know what's been concealed
We've all been blinded - Subjects to visual misinformation
A systematic denial of the crystalline

Our light-induced image of truth - Filtered blank of its substance
As our eyes won't adhere to intuitive lines
Everything examined. Separated, one thing at a time
The harder we stare the more complete the disintegration

To see the fine grain, to read the hidden words
The context of parallel truth - Devoid of fragmentation
Eyes re-opened, susceptible
Reasoning focalized. Receptors activated

Perspectives distorted
The ladder beyond our grasp
The twin-headed serpent forever hidden
Where's the true knowledge
Where engines of the sane & insanity merge
the clarity, the unity

Reality untouchable, transparent, invisible
to our fixed, restricted fields of vision
Existence taken for granted, absolute
Uncomprehended by our content minds

Possessed, owned, run, controlled
by the common sense-infected rational gaze
Onward forever we walk among the ignorant
Never stray from the common lines

@ivankiss you just developed into my favorit contemporary poet - not that i know so many... but this is so beautiful - and you almost write one a week.

My favorite Meshuggah lyrics:

No more ifs, no bias, no ambiguity No wondering whether this is it

Clarity to brightly shining the images so painfully absolute

No edges blurred on this awareness

No unknown weights to tip the knowledge scales

eyes dilated to grasp it all as every illusion of what we are fails

an unquestionable picture - determined, complete its crystalline lines untouched by doubt

so vivid, so deprived of hesitation shining in its evil splendor

the burning hatred of man a million degrees on display

human voracity delineated the demons in us all by fumes portrayed

stare, see, take in, grasp

comprehend, assimilate, behold your reflection

its framing - -gold plated lies the canvas - hurting souls caught and weaved the artist -

the human dream incinerated, devoured, deceived

@llumin Glad to see some 'shuggah fans here! Been obsessed with them a few years ago. Rediscovering my love for them these days. They are a powerhouse!

@now is forever They require some adjustment and getting used to - even if you are into rougher forms of music. And especially if you're not a musician. Their music is based on complex polyrhythms and sickass, unconventional grooves. The mind is usually not used to it by default. But once you get a hold of it; it's a whole new world hah! The lyrics are pretty much enlightenment, in methol language.
