Following politics is tier 1 thinking, right?

45 posts in this topic

In the sense of just being a normal person, not working within politics, and just reading news articles and watching debates all the time. It definitely seems to me like it's just entertainment, the enjoyment of collective ego of the party you support being "successful", enjoying getting angry at current affairs and whatever.

My dad and brother both care about politics and my dad wants me to vote. I simply just do not care at all. I only see politics being useful if you're planning on trying to implement change that's at a higher stage than most of society of the country you're in.

What's your view?

No, there is politics at every stage of the Spiral.

By being ignorant of politics and world events you are putting yourself into the worst possible position and dooming society to remain unconscious.

You cannot avoid politics any more than you can avoid metaphysics. You're already doing it. The only question is, how conscious is your politics?

Sticking your head in the sand is precisely why our politics is so ugly.

@NoSelfSelf You are missing that you are member of society whether you like it or not, whether you're enlightened or not. Society can only function when its citizens are well-educated and conscious. If the most conscious people stick their head in the sand and only focus on making their own personal lives work consciously, then society will be seized by the most unconscious right-wing nationalist tyrants. That's how Hitler and WWII happens.

As a human being you have to take responsibility for your role within a collective. Personal enlightenment is good but not good enough! Which is why enlightened masters become Bodhisattvas, to help elevate the rest of mankind. They are playing  a much bigger game than their own personal enlightenment. Personal enlightenment is a cake walk compared to enlightening society.

If you are the whole universe, then you are also society. You cannot treat yourself as only an individual unit, only a personal human life. You are also the collective! The life of all beings is your responsibility. You are God after all. How can you neglect your creation? Are you really going to sit by and watch devilry prevail? No! You cannot. It is actually impossible. Love and consciousness will move you to towards the highest Good.

To be fully conscious is to take responsibility for EVERYTHING to the point where you are willing to lay your life down for the greater Good. That is literally God's work. God did not design this wondrous creation through negligence or selfishness.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

The ,truth' is that the politic lies in our ego, serves to it, is the basis for the functioning of societies. You can stand next to it or realize importance of this ,game'.

@Leo Gura I have an idea of what's going on, I'm not totally oblivious, but I could be more informed. Most of the politics I'm hearing through media is about Brexit, maybe I just feel more numb to the overall idea of politics because all the UK is talking about right now is Brexit.

Okay so politics exists at every stage of the spiral, I feel like most people where I am are mostly blue/orange with growing numbers of orange/green. And my issue is with the way I'm seeing blue/orange & orange/green people getting involved in politics, with all the egotistical debating, surely I can avoid that behaviour whilst still being aware of what's going on and having my own opinions. I'm likely just seeing it from the wrong angle. Is it doing blue/orange and orange/green people any good to have arguments over politics with others in tier 1 any favours? Is that something that should be avoided?

A perfect summation of what I’ve been trying to articulate from one of the realizations on my last LSD trip.

By neglecting the creation, you are neglecting yourself. By neglecting “low conscious people” you are neglecting the very work that’s required in raising your consciousness because you are them.

This is a domain I wish was discussed more in spiritual circles because in leaving out politics you’re actually creating a shadow and actually hurting and hindering your own consciousness and highest development.

This is why Bodhisatvas are counterintuitive. It’s counter intuitive that when you become enlightened AF, to deepen your enlightenment you actually need to step OUT of isolation and elevate the low conscious masses despite the fact that they won’t understand you, will demonize you, etc. and you’ll see they’re shenanigans and not judge them but understand them from a place of Love and understanding and then go into the chaos, get your hands and feet dirty, and do what you can to help raise the rest of mankind in one fashion or another. Whether it be in a big scale like Sadhguru or your small mill guy. Regardless though, you’re involved. That’s fucking counter-intuitive. The patience these guys have is a testament to true understanding and mastery.

And that’s assuming you even get there. That stage of development, mastery, and understanding alone of course is by no means guaranteed.

But yeah get involved with politics. Learn. Doesn’t mean you need to listen to the news 24/7 and stress yourself out. But stay current. Mystics and sages are contempory.

“He evolves as the culture evolves” - Joseph Campbell referring to the evolution of the hero in “The Power of Myth”

”Mystics we’re always contemporary.” - Sadhguru referring to how and why he works with political leaders and economic titans (to transform those in power in order to better serve the people)

God created relationship so that the depth of your love could really be put to the test. It's easy to love the world when you're sitting alone in a cave because there are no fools or devils to deal with.

Try being enlightened while running for president. Now there's a real test of your consciousness!

Osho was an enlightened master, but his community was full of devilry.

Pun definitely intended.

In the case of Osho: enlightenment is a true test of how much you look like an owl with those eyes staring into the pit of someone’s soul.

Alright. No more jokes lol

So if like does not attract like and instead opposites attract, and Osho was indeed an enlightened master that attracted a community of devils...

Can a master Devil attract a community full of enlightened people?

@NoSelfSelf dude... nobody is telling you to run as a politician. Nuance man. You’re reading this black and white.

How about educating on the many perspectives of politics? Read Marx, read John Adams, read and study communism, capitalism, socialism, and how they look at high stages of consciousness, etc.

How about being more educated on who you vote for? What policies you vote for? Being more aware of what policies are even being voted on right now? Being more conscious of where you buy your food as far (super)markets and companies? Being more conscious of where your food comes from and how that fits in with the rest of the world and being more aware of where you put your money? Do I need to go on?...

How many times do I have to say that LP is not a selfish thing, it is the highest form of love and service to the world!

You are turning a beautiful thing into a tool of the devil.

You must align your purpose with the good of the world.

Becoming a politician is not at all necessary to help the world. There are literally millions of opportunities to help the world every year. You just have to open your eyes and see how everything is interconnected.

Was Hitler the Devil? Or just a mere mortal man trying to choose good over bad?

You’re making a contrast between the same thing. If you’re seeing things between good and bad from the POV of a mortal man you’re living unconsciously as a devil because how is that judgment of good vs evil and what to do based on it being filtered? Survival/selfishness. Based on ideology, conditioning, beliefs, prejudices, etc.

If you’re seeing things as a good vs. bad you’re living as a devil. All I mean by that is to say that one is viewing things based on survival. That doesn’t mean everybody who isn’t enlightened is some murderous criminal, asshole, Hiter-like person. So don’t confuse what I’m saying as that. But to suggest Hitler wasn’t living as an unconscious devil is just absurd.

You might as well ask about an organge, ‘is that orange really an orange or is it just a round fruit with the color of orange that’s high and vitamin C...’

@kieranperez A mortal tries to choose God over the Devil. Someone who knows that God is the Devil, and that he/she is both, is no longer mortal.

If you can't make that distinction, then there is no such thing as enlightenment.

If you call Hitler a Devil then he was also God. Since his entire goal was demonizing some groups of people for the good of another, and he was a vegetarian, I'd say that he was extremely proficient at choosing good from bad. The better you are at sorting good from bad the more evil you commit.

There is no Devil.

What I can't figure out is what Osho was. I guess Jesus left the same kind of shit storm in his wake. I think that's the reason it's so important to follow a variety of teachers, and to not to be a loyal follower. We all are just a piece of a puzzle, even enlightened, we're still just a puzzle piece. Both Jesus and Osho were pioneers I guess. Today with the internet we really do have the luxury of picking and choosing from enlightened teachers. This may be the first time in history that that is true.

Jesus did not leave a shitstorm. He spread the word about God as best as he could in his era.

You have to remember that people were basically barbarians and slaves back then. So for them, Christianity was cutting edge high tech stuff, like the iPhone of their time.

Remember that 99% of people could not read back then. And there were no books!

Also, stop taking the word "devil" literally. These are nuanced teachings which require a highly intuitive and figurative mind to properly decipher.

@Leo Gura The Crusades and everything else aren't Jesus's fault but I'd still consider the past 2019 years a shitstorm.  Nondual teachings in the hands of extremely dualistic people create the worst kinds of evil. There are very few gnostic Christians for every dualistic AF one. The dualistic ones are adamant about following Jesus and ONLY Jesus.

Jesus knew what he was doing.

"I have come to ignite a fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!"

"Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword."

@mandyjw You'll need a very sick imagination to imagine what the last 2019 years would have been like without the molifying influence of Christianity and Islam.

The leap from Stage Red to Blue was a major leap in human evolution.

The mistake is comparing to some hippie ideal spirituality, which is stage Green, which never existed until 100 years ago, and only on the shoulders of Blue.
