Meditation for living an amazing clear life

I got a Paradox; help me find out the way

Hi guys

I have been doing the Do nothing practice from 1st March (53 days from the day I'm writing this) and I see no positive results. I find my monkey mind (~half of the time, automatic negative thinking) taking control over me more often than it used to be before I stared doing this practice, with some implications like less focus, less joy, less mental energy and living in sometime outside the now. The Do Nothing technique have totally killed my ability to enjoy a bath.

I'm doing 60' daily of this practice, mixed with the Strong Determination Sitting technique; and my mind usually have a period of peace in the 50'. It feels amazing. I enjoy the Technic, but I m getting bad results for it.

What do you suggest me? Those are options, you can give me yours

-Search for another technique: If that is the case: What meditation technique do you think is the best for Shutting the monkey mind off?

-Keep doing this, this technique is effective and the results will come (I'm thinking in keeping it 90 days max)

If you have experience using this technique, please share yours with the community.

If you have used other techniques that could be helpful, please share it with the actualized.org Community

*And yes, my English is amazing, hope you notice that :)

@Franko Don try to supress thoughts. Dont try not to think because it will make you think even more. Using any technique you are doing somebody else thing. Discover what you think is better for you. To stop thinking you must think about it first and tame it before it loses importance. You want to tame useless thoughts not the usefull ones, those i cherish and welcome....i think.

About overeating i can give practical advice. I have to stay slim because of joint pain from past overeating and training and i use intermitent fasting and it works for me. Every 24 hours i fast 14 hours. For the 10 hour eating period i eat mostly clean food but i eat all i want. If my last meal was 7 PM i only eat after 9 AM the next day. If i eat at 11 AM i only eat after 1PM next day. At first you will probably feel bad fasting 14 hours (as i did) but then you get used to it (i did). I keep my weight down this way.

Generally the Do Nothing technique is good, but it may cause you to find yourself confronted with the "agony" of boredom. That seems what has happened. (I know, my english is shitty, but I try my best ;-))

You can write down or print out the following commands and run this little process:

  1. Look around here and find someone, something, or somewhere you would be willing to like?
  2. Look around here and find someone, something, or somewhere that's really real to you?
  3. Look around here and find someone, something, or somewhere that you wouldn't mind contacting or getting into communication with?
  4. Look around here and find someone, something, or somewhere you wouldn't mind or would be willing to understand more of?
  5. Look around here and find someone, something, or somewhere you would be willing to have a higher quality friendliness toward?

    Repeat 1 - 5 several times.

You can do it in your room, in the whole apartment or outside. You can do it in a park or sitting in a cafè.
If you do it alone where there are no other people, you can skip the "someone" from the commands.

"Somewhere" referes to a spot in space, a place.

You should feel more alive and in touch with your environment.

The above process can handle it, as it will cause you to come back out of your mind and put your attention and interest on the outside.

I really think you should just go back to the basics, be the atmosphere, mindful of the content, go meta on yourself (looking at your body in the third person.) to help you refocus on the present moment and do this to continue to re-focus when you notice yourself getting caught up in thoughts and continue to re-focus on the moment, that's where the muscle gets built when you can re-focus. No need to make this complicated, it's really simple. RE-WATCH this one more time to re-ground yourself.

I agree with that you're running into the wall of boredom. Its a very persistent presence. Especially when there's so much you could be doing. I run into this issues myself.

Yes.

It's a very potent little process. Just run it and see for yourself. :-)

It's not only about the present moment, but also about your future creation. You'll see it when you run it.

Kind regards,
Chris
