When Awareness becomes aware of itself

28 posts in this topic

@Truth Addict I just said what I heard.From Sadhguru.About the love part.

Absolute is Nirguna Brahman.No qualities.Nothing can be said about it.Says scriptures.

The Absolute is unaware.It is not aware of anything including itself.It is prior to the Awareness.Thats my self - Nisargadatta Maharaj.

So just words from various sources.Not my direct experience.I am not self realized.

@Jkris

I'm not self realised either.

I was speaking from ego's perspective on reality, a surrendered ego though.

There is definitely a lot more for me to learn.

The Apsolute is Aware of itself right Now. There is no such thing as unawaraness. I have to disagree with Nisargadatta on this one.

@Conrad

“Effort psychologically means thought went beyond its limits. Do you see what I mean? Desire, pleasure seeking, looking for happiness through memory/thought means we think doing that will make us whole/complete/in a state of bliss. But thought can never offer that, and when it tries to that just sustained false self. “

It depends on what unawaraness Truly is in Reality. It isn't what the mind projects it to be. Awareness too, it isn't what the mind projects it to be.

But the Apsolute aka God have seen through my eyes and it was totally aware and conscious of itself. Only It was and Only It IS. Nothing more can be said about that.

@Conrad I will share the contents of my conversation with a Master.

Master :- The Absolute (Paramatma) is not aware of anything. The state of Awareness comes later, with the knowledge of the 'I Am' .. This very principle that does not know that 'It is', is my Self Nisargadatta Maharaj

Me :- Do you agree with this ?

Master :-What is there to disagree with? The Absolute need not be aware of It. It is What Is!

Me:- I am confused.when Rupert spira and some others say awareness is aware of itself. N Maharaj says by knowing what you are not you know what you are. Absolute is beyond being,non being,no-thingness,conciousness,unconsciousness ?

Master :- Yes. Consciousness is conscious of itself, but to be aware of itself, it needs awareness. Likewise, awareness is aware of itself, but to be conscious of itself, it needs consciousness. The Absolute is the state beyond consciousness and awareness. To know is to be. (I couldn't understand this).

It is the mind or consciousness responsible to know something, but it can only know itself, that you are not in reality. By knowing what you are not, you come to know and be what you are. The 'Neti, Neti' in the Upanishads declares it. You are not what you know yourself to be.(This I can Understand)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I couldn't understand but I am sure you can.

Thank you.

As he said, to know is to be. And ultimately, there is only One Infinite Being. You are That Being. That Being aka God IS Everything, including the state beyond awareness and consciousness.

At the same time, the Apsolute are all states of consciousness and awareness. Awareness and consciousness are simply facets of the One independent Apsolute, two possibilities of infinite ones.

There may be and probably is realities without consciousness or Awareness at all. And that would be included in the Apsolute. The Apsolute simply IS, it doesn't need to be aware or conscious. As this master said, what is there to disagree with? The Apsolute needs not be anything including being aware. He said it is what is and that is the Truth. There is only the Apsolute.

You are none but the Apsolute which is Infinite and literally Everything that IS and isn't. Become conscious of this.
