Flatworld Crusades

Sane, crazy, insanity and psychosis

90 posts in this topic

@Flatworld Crusades my bad. Well resistance is fear continuously perpetuated by diverting thought or energy

edit: like a broken watch maybe, but this was from a shroom trip and I was not willing to die to the substance

@Serotoninluv oh so a more permanent state, okay

@Flatworld Crusades  It's like when you have a negative thought and you fight against this thoughts. Other thoughts arise like "I shouldn't be thinking like that" etc... that is the violence, trying to stop those thoughts from arising.

The let go of the thoughts or surrender, is just observe the thought. Be aware of it and let it go. When you are aware of the thought you will see it lose its power. If you fight (violence) against it, you will see that it gets stronger (the negative thought).

This has not been my experience. To me, that idea sounds like a sane perspective on insanity. A couple of my episodes had no thoughts involved.

In my experience with insanity, there is no thinking about whether it’s sane or insane. There is no rational thought process comparing the activity in my head to others. It’s not rational, it’s insane. . . . I’m not referring to mild stuff like ideas that I may have a paranormal skill and worry others might think I’m insane. There are insane levels much much deeper that I would not wish on anyone. Like being trapped in an insane reality. It can go into some horrifying stuff.

Being neither sane or insane is not a "sane perspective on insanity". It's transcendence. Unification of both.

Had psychotic episodes with no thought present whatsoever, myself. It was infinite. And it was hell of a more insane and scary than while thoughts were flowing through; trying to convince me (themselves, really) that I've completely lost it.

Insane thoughts do not equal full-blown, direct experience of insanity. That I agree on.

But thought surely led to that configuration of reality. Nothing else.

One of my experiences of insanity included me being forcefully tied down to a medical bed, by several cops, while I was overdosed.

But something else also happened... Something even scarier than insanity. It was death. Conceptual first, physical right after. The experience of both, to be clear. And it was very real to that which believed anything was ever real. Including insanity.

That is how I became friends with insanity and saw through the illusion of sanity. Unintentionally. Unwillingly.

Through what I can only describe as absolute resistance. And that came from fear. And that came from thought.

Speaking from direct experience, only. Objectivity is not my field. So I might not be able to speak objectively. Or give any valuable/practical advice in that manner.

When I was not the experiencer, but merely an observer of insanity; I slowly became able to love it. To invite it in. To transform it.

I only pointed out the source of insanity in my original post.

Breathing deeper is only what's trully practical and helpful, really.

From direct experience.

@Flatworld Crusades

Answering your questions will make you even more confused. Because they make me confused.

Instead, live your life, and if you like do some practices.

I don't have any better answers.

I wrote a really cool response but the the Internet dropped out and my words went down the pipe and didn't come back.

Must be time for a Chardonnay, it's just after 2pm.

First they seemed like angels to me, when they came knocking on the door. I was in heaven with my one foot already.

But when I heard they wanna "take me with them"... oh boy.

It was hell. I was an animal, fighting for my survival. I was 100% convinced they wanted to drag me to the insane asylum. And that was precisely what the process felt like.

Landed in a hospital, instead. Just didn't know it.

Do not ever mix random drugs. Especially if you have no idea of what the dosage is and what could that kind of ignorance lead to.

I would honestly suggest that to everybody. Use drugs wisely and maturely. Define the recreational intent of use and expansional one. Certain difference is important beyond speach.

Don't be stupid. Don't be like me.

Hearth centeredness is essential now, prior to substance (ab)use.

Much love to ya'all insane motherfu#kers! xD

(Humor heals, too)

@Flatworld Crusades this is a strange topic and at first I was curious if it was related to posts you found to be offensive in the forum. (I may be way off)

There seems to be a morality about you. An increased sensitivity toward perceived conflict that is of your shadow side; there’s potential growth in reflection

@DrewNows I didn't find any of the posts here offensive, but I did see that there was a lot of loose language around sanity/insanity and I was looking for a topic to contribute. I genuinley wanted to get some clarification on the meaning and definitions of the words from this perspective.

I do withhold quite a bit and try to interact in a perfunctory fashion to avoid conflict and miscommunication. It's not morals, it's a very distinct value set.

Ive thought about this a lot and its actually quite simple.

The only real definition of insanity is if you are able to function in a society or not.

If you are hearing voices, are in constant state of paranoia where you are a danger to others, people will put you in an insane asylum and call you insane.

If you have weird beliefs but can still function in society (like flat earthers for example) people in the west will give you a pass and not seriously consider you insanse, just deluded. These people will be put in the same category as highly realized mystics simply because they cant gather a consensus for their views but are still otherwise contributing members to society.
