Conscious relationships

How do you guys approach relationships and sex while on a spiritual path? 

 

Do you hold off until you meet someone who is also on a similar path to you? or do you just try and get in-tune with different peoples energy and when there's a match roll with it despite the fact they may no nothing about consciousness work ect. 

 

It seems you have to gain alot of control over your impulses to really make healthy decisions in this area. 

 

Sex is quite a controversial topic in spiritual cycles too with conflicting ideologies on who to approach it. 

 

Just wondering how you guys approach this?

I'm staying away from it until I find someone who is on the path. If I was to get in a relationship with someone who wasn't, it would end pretty quickly.

There is never a point in which you can be logically confident that this particular person is the one you should spend the rest of your life investing in.
Whatever the two of you think of your own development is ultimately irrelevant. With time, all differences will be turned into synergies, or you will kill each other in the process .

In this sense, relationships can be a framework for consciousness work. Love is the attraction between opposites.
There is no better way to transcend yourself than becoming happy with the incarnation of your own shadow.

Yeah pretty much.

I don't see the point to be with someone I know there is little chance to work long-term.
I have a very long-term vision personality though, and I totally understand how limiting it can be for other people.

To me the main reason to enter a relationship is to be intimately near someone with whom to grow even faster.

Friendships are just as important as romantic relationships, maybe more so. We often don't make time for our friends because we put romantic relationships, money and practical things over friends. Especially when we hit our late 20's and 30's and life gets in the way of fun and friendship.
