I can't focus or concentrate

4 posts in this topic

Hi All

I really could with some help on how I can master getting my focus and concentration back to normal agai. I have dyspraxia, mental illnesses and fibromylagia and I am really struggling to focus on just anything that that involves cognition. I have tried numerous things from exercising regularly to eating healthy diet and even intermittent fasting but nothing seems to get my brai back into the zone. I really want to go back to university this to complete my degree and finally graduate. But one of the reasons of not being able to complete stuff is due to focusing in class or at home.  I always distracted by something despite changing the environment.  i can't keep using my dyspraxia as flpping excuse all the time. I know i have chronic pain and leaves me exhausted in pain a lot of the time. But I am just feeling useless. I am wondering whether now, I should see my shrink and see she can help, but i garantee she would just "it's just your dyspraxia" and not bother to get down testing me.

@sk1n1m1n afaik, fibromylagia is closely related to emotional issues. do you have any severe trauma? anything related to your childhood, relationships, parents etc?

I recomend reading digital minimalism and deep work by cal nnewport.

The reason mostly likely is because of spending to much time on distractions which create attention residue which ruin our concentration. The key to aviod this is spending more time being bored.

the fibromyalgia might be an issue to tackle first. watch the documentary 'fat sick and nearly dead'. the guy was taking dozens of meds a day for an autoimmune disease. He got rid of it via juice fasting, and afterwards was able to resume a normal, moderate diet.

Complex carbs and protein every 3 hours or so is important to regulate blood sugar levels. glucose is the primary fuel of the brain. important mentally and physically.

and look at your hydration. this has been my sole focus for the last month and i'm feeling much better
