Shooting pains in chest, arms, fingertips and toes after shadow work/ yoga

9 posts in this topic

Hi

Has anybody got experience with physical pains after meditation / chakra work and shadow work sessions? The chest pains are sharp stabbing pains actually located around my physical heart, the shoot through my arms, sometimes I feel them in my wrist, fingertips and toes.

The left side is more active.

I have also had moments of nausea, lightheadedness and irregular bowel movements. I passed a meal that I ate only 11 hours ago only partially undigested.

I have been doing deep belly breathing and focusing on the naval to heart chakra in my work.

Slightly worried.

Yes, it happens as a side effect of consciousness work or anxiety. But there could also be medical reasons, so go see your doctor anyway.

Blockages probably, but yeah see a doctor just to be sure.

If i had to guess this is not some purging or cleansing or process of purifying. It's some real physical issue and seems intense. But could be caused by improper practices also.

Does it happen during the meditation or at any time of the day?

I’ve been dealing with similar symptoms since I started my yoga, mediation, and shamanic breathing exercises. I also have feeling of tightness around my heart and when I really feel into my body, my legs will go totally numb. I’m assuming it’s best to keep doing the practices and really feel into the sensations that come up in order to release energy and/or tension.

It seems like the Letting Go technique by David Hawkins is effective for this work but only if you put in a lot of effort, like 4 hours a day over the course of a 2-3 months to get great results. I’ve been doing this for about a month and cleared out a lot of crap but feel like I have a ways to go.

@Girzo @Rilles @Mu_

Hi, thank you for taking the time to reply, I will schedule an appointment with the doc as soon as possible just to make sure. I had a blood pressure check a few months back.and everything is excellent, but there is no harm in getting checked again.

@Salvijus Hi, it's happening during the day, even now as a write and I have not meditated yet today formally.

@sausagehead Thank you for sharing your experiences with this problem, and thank you for the valuable recommendation. I will check David Hawkins out. I just noticed that you posted something about him on the forum as I was browsing, will take a look now.

Thank you all, much love.

@Lister I would consider putting the chakra practices on hold for a while in case that's the cause of your problem.

Energy work is no joke.

I would keep doing some grounding practices, like Maha Mudra for example. It's not always black and white whether to continue practice or not.

Sometimes energies let loose could do even more damage. This field is hard to navigate.
