Doing a 10 day solo retreat in Peru. Have a question

4 posts in this topic

Hej folks!

Tomorrow im starting my first 10 day solo retreat.

I booked an Airbnb in Peru and gona stay there non stop meditating.

My question:

I would like to fast for a couple of days, 3 days to be exact.

Can the one's who have experienced 3 day's or more of fasting give me some tips, hints, insights or whatever you think might be helpful.

Do you think its wise to start off the retreat with fasting or end it with fasting?

Thanks and cheers ✌️

Sweet man. Been aimin to go there also. Here’s some suggestions for ya on the fasting...

Fasting does not = no food at all (unless you’re in a trained facility, in dire circumstances). To fast is to be steadfast, to have absolute conviction in your liberation, and absolute trust. Just mentioning this so you don’t starve yourself and effect your trip with unhealthy sugar levels, etc, etc.

This shake is very helpful, vegan, lactose free, gluten free, ample protein and all the nutrient’s needed, and nothing unneeded. Very very energy & mood enhancing. I’d have 1 or 2 a day, depending on your weight and metabolism, and lots of water. Water not only curbs the appetite, but of course hydrates, and just as white light is so because it is every color, the clear purity of water is the lifeblood that is all things.

1 scoop of “Chocolate Raw Meal & greens” (amazon.com, most grocery stores)

1 - 2 cups of ice

1 - 2  cups of chocolate almond milk

1 or 2 bananas

1 tablespoon of cocoa powder (mood enhancing)

add a tablespoon or two of peanut butter (only if you need it sweetened)

Mix in Nutribullet or blender.

You can also skip the ice and the mixer, and just shake the heck out of it. It works. Shake it enough and the banana will even mix in. You can pre-make this too without need for refrigeration (for a day) using water and or nondairy liquids (almond milk).

For more intense fasting, you can simply mix the raw meal powder with water or chocolate almond milk or whatever liquid. I’d have around 3 of those a day.

Have a great retreat!!!

♥️

@Nahm

.

Good thing you mentioned the bloodsugar thing, it will probably be hard to focus if im going through the motions as my body adapts to not eating. I will do fasting on another occasion but not while the retreat, since my main focus goes to gaining clarity and purification of mind.

The superfoods are a nice tip. Have not thought about it. I will probably use the Mambe I still have from my aya retreat 1 month ago. Of what I heard this stuff is supposed to be extremely healthy. I can also use it for meditation  when i feel drowsy.

Blessings & Thanks for your input ??

Don't drink too much water, see a shaman, have a guide, enjoy ayahuasca. You don't have to travel far to do solitary confinement.

"Water intoxication, also known as water poisoning, hyperhydration, overhydration, or water toxemia is a potentially fatal disturbance in brain functions that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside safe limits by excessive water intake."
