What is ignorance?

What is ignorance? 

Within most non dual circles ignorance is synonymous  with recognition of the “self”. Disodentification with “ego”. The personality structure. 

Yet. People who do & abide in it. Still might suffer from tremendous issues. Subconscious and conscious cravings, fears, and walls that we put up to deal with a reality we can not fully look at. A reality we are afraid to open up to. 

Arrogance towards our fellow man, dehumanisation of them, not understanding them, not understanding ourselves, our limits, our blind spots all stem from this lack of opening up. This fear to truly look. 

Ignorance of the fact that we are not the identity is but one type of ignorance and on the path we should shed light on all these parts of ourselves.

life is hard. We simplify it to make do, but having the courage to grow and become better is one of the most respectable qualities to have, and I believe the best quality for growth. Towards a non dual understanding, and further towards embodying it. Towards humility, respect and the understanding of life itself.

Awesome! Ignorance can be so easy to spot in others but we never stop and consider what that might mean for us 

Working through ignorance seems to be a continuous process of psychological growth and expansion in understanding the limits and boundaries we create for ourselves. It does takes vulnerability and humility and, first of all, acceptance of our own ignorance (unknown to us)

Careful...you don’t know that. You know your thought about that.

No, it is fear of one’s own sensations. It is paper thin.

Ignorance is just a thought is oddly enough due to ignorance. Thoughts are merely the surface level of an entire structure that goes very deep.

Essentially, not seeing what is as it is.  Often, we may believe and/or think we have seen and know, but we happen to be wrong.  We have not seen what is as it is.  We are ignorance of what is.

It is trying to reduce infinity to finitude with the intent to manipulate it for personal benefit.

There is another way to put it too. Ignorance is the quality of ignoring. Like how we ignore the Self in favor of the mind's stories.

Problem with ignorance is that it can be something right in front of your face, but you just do not notice it, if I would have to put it in any terms it would be something that stands in front of what is true, but then again , you can be ignorant just because you are stupid like me!

Ignorance can also be conceived as doing or clinging to something dumb that you think is worthwhile.

But it’s not relevant to the post lol. Post was about how ignorance isn’t simply or only ignorance of non duality.
