@Shaun You've never just started to get frostbite in your hands or feet and felt what it was like to warm them up again? 

What about scratching an itch?

What about eating past being full?

What about telling someone you love them and not knowing if they love you back? 

What about plunging into a slightly too cold pool on a hot day?

Scratching is pleasurable because the itch goes away.

Eating past being full just causes suffering so I don't do it.

I only tell people I love them when I know they love me back

Feels good for a bit and then the pool is too cold.

Imagine you get acid thrown in your face. Present moment or not, it's going to hurt. Suffering is very real unless you have the zen master level of consciousness required to completely detach from it.

Let's just hope you never have to endure some intense suffering because then you will know exactly what I mean. It's one thing to sit at your computer spouting spiritual platitudes about suffering until it really happens to you. THEN it isn't funny. Not all of us have the level of consciousness required to be happy when our leg is hanging off.

It is easy to underestimate our own devil. It’s intolerable to questions like, “Did you experience being a guy who had his head cut off?”...no. Oh well, since I am not the one being tortured and beheaded, I guess life for everyone is just peachy perfect then, isn't it? I am not denying the existence of god, I never once said that, I am just pointing out that god is sick and or indifferent beyond all comprehension.
