From line 6 of hexagram 41-

"Perserverance brings good fortune" refers to the person who recognizes the Cosmic source of his increase. He perseveres in saying the inner No's  to the ego's attempts to appropriate the gifts by suggesting he has "deserved" them. He also does not allow them to be used for any egotistical purpose. This line states the Cosmic Principle that Cosmic gifts may never be used for egotistical purposes because doing so decreases the Cosmic Whole, creating blame.

Maybe by some miracle Trump and Elliot Hulse will take a heavy dmt trip together and both have the deep realization of having for the whole of their lives been employing grandiosity as a defence mechanism for shielding against inadequacy. Maybe even hold a joint press conference where they have a good cry and try to start hugging and apologizing to everyone.

?? That would be a really good press conference.

For each changing line in an I CHING reading, there is a judgment (summary sentence), and then from a brief paragraph to multiple paragraphs. I've never transcribed the judgement lines before today. I don't think,,,, I've paraphrased the judgement and summaries fairly often though.

Hexagram 45 Gathering Together 

• Line 1 - There will sometimes be confusion, sometimes gathering together.
• Line 3 - Gathering together amid sighs. Nothing that would further. Going is without blame. Slight humiliation.
• Line 4 - Great good fortune. No blame.
• Line 5 - If in gathering together one has position, this brings no blame. If there are some who are not yet sincerely following thier inner truth, being firm in what is correct is needed. Then remorse disappears.

 

Hexagram 36 Darkening Of The Light 

• The Judgement: Darkening Of The Light. In adversity it furthers one to hold fast to what is correct.

• 1.    Cosmic Consciousness 

 

There is a lot written about Hexagram 1 and Hexagram 2.

The Judgement for Hexagram 1 - The Cosmic Consciousness is great through its interpenetration of all things, it discerns what feels harmonious and brings it into form through transformation.

"Cosmic Consciousness" is the name the Sage gives the aggregate consciousness of the Cosmos. It is the invisible origin of all the things that exist in form as Nature. Nature is the primary way in which the Cosmic Consciousness manifests. All things  that exist in Nature are compressed Cosmic Consciousness, and are unique aspects of it. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

 

Later in the commentary it  says when a person receives Hexagram 1 without changing lines, it is a message to remind him that he is an equal part of the Cosmic Whole. This means that while he is unique, he is not special. Just as humankind is not "chosen" or distinguished among animals. No individual human or group is considered to be elite or heroic. It tells him that if he will take his proper place in the Cosmic Whole by saying the inner No to the delusion he is special, he will put himself back into the Cosmic stream of chi energy ( his source of creativity, nourishment, help, and healing) from which he has become separated. Being separated also means he is no longer in contact with the Sage, the Cosmic Teacher. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

• 44.  Coming to meet

"Coming to meet" refers to the Cosmic Principle that it is attraction  which draws complementary aspects together. It does so in its own time, without the need for pressure or contriving. When allowed to take its time and natural course, everything matures and completes itself in the best way possible. All of this occurs in the atomic realm, through transformation, creating a unity that endures.

Just a small piece of the commentary from today's reading.

"The force of will lies neither in physical nor mental power, but in its irresistible strength, which develops when it aligns with inner truth. Breakthrough refers to the successful effort of the will in breaking down the power of the ego. The breakdown of the ego is initiated through saying the inner No  to any part of the ego that is active in the situation. The inner No  brings about transformation in the realm of the atom, which is the realm of consciousness."

I may let go of this thread and just share from my journal on occasion.

I throw the coins for a reading at the start of every day but I've become lax about daily recording of the reading. Today's reading was interesting.

• 43 Resoluteness/Breakthrough   with line 6 changing which creates a second hexagram 
• 1 The Cosmic Consciousness 

A very small piece of this morning's reading-

,,,,,,,,, "the mental program that creates the ego has been installed in the psyche with the help of threats, punishments, flatteries, and rewards. Therefore, the ego takes on a "bully" character that keeps the true self intimidated and locked in self-doubt . The person needs to clearly realize that the ego is a parasite in his psyche that not only  feeds on his life energy, but that, if not counteracted, will eventually destroy him. To rid himself of it requires that he recognize and deprogram all the false phrases and images on which is based. The purpose of the I Ching, as a gift of the Cosmos to humans, is to help the individual achieve this divestiture."  From page 63 of The Oracle of the Cosmic Way.

To condense and paraphrase more. We create spells in our lives with thoughts and words.

 

I like Red Hawks phrase.

" A relaxed body is an honest body." Or maybe he phrases it in reverse? An honest body is a relaxed body from his book Self Observation. I may look it up later.

A relaxed body and a quiet, still mind. It happens for a bit every now and then.
