The greatest cost of all

This is real, and it will happen to some of you.
They aren't kidding, and it won't feel as a metaphor to you.

You will come to a point where there will be nothing more to let go off.
The only thing that will remain will be the core belief that was driving all the others
The one that drives all your actions in life.

You won't be able to let go of it, and you will search all the possible solutions to avoid it.
Of course there is none, but you won't accept it until you won't have a choice.

Then you'll hide from it until the fear of it build up to such a point where you fear to live.
You'll wonder why you even do this since you deeply intuitively know there is no escape.

Don't despair for you won't give up and despite the irrational and abysmal fear of self annihilation,
You will still go on and face it, even though you'll fail dozens of time, perhaps hundreds.

It will be worth more than you could ever dreamed off.
