bizarre momentary feeling during yoga?

13 posts in this topic

i was doing my usual hatha yoga regime and while in eagle pose, i was looking at the trees and the hills beyond my window, focused in on them, and just emptied my mind. What followed was the most bizarre feeling, for a second or 2, my heart rate sped up super fast, and i felt the coming up of tears in my eyes and my heart filled with so emotion, it was as if they were communicating to me, it sounds absolutely insane, but it felt so good and powerful. Then my rational mind was like WTF and the monkey mind came back to play.

has anyone experienced this, what is it, kundalini? or something else?

Maybe you experienced Yoga. That's what Yoga means - union :D

But who knows maybe you're just amusing yourself when nothing happens mind exaggerates into something very big.. this happens very often :D

But it's not a surprize because a huge upsurge of energy is coming. On March 4th there's gonna be the climax of spiritual receptivity. Do your Yoga on this day after sunset in the evening or in moorning next day before sunrise, see if something happens :D

@moon777light Yay for you!!!!!   Sounds a lot like ‘purification’. Maybe you ‘hang on tight’ with worry & overthinking typically - and had a moment where the body and thoughts were either at peace, or engrossed. It is wonderful, isn’t it? There are ways to ‘trigger’ / keep tapping into the surrender / purification. Already doing yoga, and heard self inquiry a million times (do it though), but also music, journaling, expressing how you feel to a good friend, learning / playing an instrument, singing, walking in nature, painting, sculpting, drawing, looking at / smelling flowers... all kinds of things in which the beauty is more readily seen can help you empty out (?).

So happy to hear this from you!

?...?...?...?...?

And it’s not bizarre. Worrying and thinking too much is bizarre. ??

Seems like a momentary intimation of oneness. Not being separate, or bound, to a limited self construct created in the mind.
The egoic construct's only interest is self preservation, not rationality. The use of rationality is for what it cannot explain.
This limited self by it's very nature, cannot know the experience of oneness or boundless freedom. Only after the fact, does it come in and claim to have had the experience.
Just as you stated above. "then my rational mind returned"  indicates there was an awareness of the fact that it was absent during the experience, and also it's coming back into the picture to exclaim WTF. Real freedom means freedom from that self construct, which also means it's dissolution, and is usually not so easily and readily to be given up. Devote yourself to fully realizing that unlimited and boundless Self that is your true nature.
In the end, that limited construct you believe to be you,is just an idea. xD

@Salvijus i heard from astrologers and other physic peeps that this whole week is crazy regarding energies, and that from feb 28 to march 5th is the only time when none of the planets are in retrograde. I usually am sceptical of this, but weird things have been happening the past week. Definitley will watch out for march 4th sunset, thank you :)

very much yes, but im working on it. in that one moment, i felt truly at home. I have yet to try self-inquiry, in fact i dont really much about it yet. But i never thought about drawing out my experience form yesterday. How can i try to encapsulate such an intense moment into paper, idk but ill try

@who chit there are things such as "imitations of oneness"? i havent heard of that

@moon777light Don’t try to encapsulate a memory, or thought of the past.      I was suggesting to utilize those methods to continue expressing, emptying, thus self understanding / self knowing has space to arise (where thoughts of what self is used to be).  There is a realization of that as the actuality (the ‘glimpse’), and when you see you are perpetuating and carrying the barriers, they are transcended, and that ‘glimpse’ is realized to have been your default state 24/7.

Don’t focus on / attempt to relive the glimpse. Be willing to be aware of how you are adding the barriers (thought patterns against self), everyday.

Another way to look at this, is when you are humble enough to say “I don’t know what / who I really am”, then negative thoughts against yourself (worry, anxiety, etc) are no longer justified, and the silliness is revealed.

Let them go.

Intimation, not imitation.  xD
Intimation means a feeling or glimpse.

No. It is so easily ‘done’ blinking your eyes is more effort.

Do you have thoughts?

Are you aware of thoughts?

Are you awareness then, or one of the thoughts?

I see what you're saying. It's coming out of silence, not the intellect.

The fact that silence "speaks" is some mysterious shit I don't think can be understood. Intelligence beyond the mind.:S

Wise words. @Nahm.
I've fell into the "awesome experience" trap a few times. xD
I think just about everyone does at one time or another. They're freakin' awesome. :D

@Big Guru Balls @Nahm amen, yesterday was a sacred day/holiday regarding yoga (mahashivratri), and after having that cool experience, my mind was so focused on getting to that again, excitement and whatnot, especially since it was a sacred day, i thought maybe it would be easier to tap into that, but i barely could concentrate during yoga, and of course had monkey mind throughout. So the lesson for me is whatever comes up, comes up, and to not boast about it too much.

Well, if you’re looking for a real thrill, possibly the wildest most creative experience in all of infinity  - seriously unimaginable, unfathomable, and thoroughly completely mind blowing, so insanely awesomely totally mind blowing in fact that you will absolutely literally forget who you even are! So mind blowing that you’ll transcend “mind blowing” and the perpetual miracle will actually seem ordinary!

And then - the craziest most facinating thing - as a miracle - believing it’s “ordinary” - you’ll look for “good” experiences.

@Big Guru Balls ??
