Quitting Alcohol For Life: Testimonies

3 posts in this topic

I quit few things in my life, but alcohol and partying is the most I struggled with lately. I want to quit for life, I know in me I can do it but I would like to hear your stories and how you feel now?

I was never fond of alcohol. But I haven't touched a beer since October 2014. The largest motivation was video called (translating) Vodka - Technology of Drinking Induction (a Russian documentary, can't find it in English). But the graphic might work for you as well (seek to 24:58). What he's talking about is that red blood cells in contact with alcohol start to form lumps which clog capillaries in brain which results both in a neuron dying and capillaries explosion under pressure, so basically, your blood spills in your brain.

Quitting is great for body, sleep and energy levels.

I took a 2 year break from being drunk. Drinked maybe total of 15-20 glasses of beer/redwine in those 2 years, so almost nothing.

Now i been drinking like 2-3 times a year.

Do what you like, but unless it really bothers you, i dont think there is a need to quit forever or go the extreme. If you are an addict type, then its good to quit.

I dont enjoy drinking that much anymore so i dont drink. But if i happen to go out im going to have a beer if i feel like it.

Youre asshole friends will look at you weird for the next 6-12 months and you´ll probably lose some of them. They will resist chance, they dont want to see you chance.
