2 Questions

4 posts in this topic

1) If right now, everything in your life and experience remains exactly the same; but just the personal 'you' (whatever that is) is taken out, what actual difference would it make?

2) If right now, your brain is shot with a gun, what exactly is it that would die? Can thoughts, sensations, feelings, perception, interpretations die? Were they alive in the first place?

1) No difference. All difference

2) Nothing would die. There would be an appearance of a guy being shot in the head. I would probably not be able to experience myself as that individual anymore; because the body would have a massive hole in it. But I would not be dead, actually. Maybe I could even revisit the same experiencer/point of view in some other alternet reality, where he does not get shot.

Nothing ever dies. There is only an experience of death.

1) this question doesn't actually make sense. You can't leave the true you out of the equation. However, the false notion you already know can be taken out

2) the physical body would die, alongside the false notion of you who thought there was both life and death in dualities aka i was once a live, now i am dead right before the bullet hits the brain. The person would think to himself, he knows hes about to die right now

3) My experience is no, because its still your mechanism to interact with the world outside your physical body. but in the sense your asking, i would say that you know you aren't those things when they arise so you let them go more easily and return to just being awareness

4) they were just what was! or is! the notion of dead vs alive is something you've attached to them to understand them. in past tense, what is was just what happened. if there was no past, then you've already forgot about it without remembering was it alive or dead

All of these in my opinion obviously :P

I don't say this often, but I like those questions. Perfect for contemplation.

I find them really efficient at hunting down or digging out the sense of self in self-inquiry. Glad it resonates with you as well.
