Sit and Wait?

6 posts in this topic

I recently just discovered THAT which is so simple and easily overlooked.

Just being still and silent, i uncovered that very ordinary but peaceful experience called happiness which is normally masked with objects or goals. It's just the quietning of the mind which occurs and we think the object or our goal triggered it.

So now, i ask this. During my meditation, i arrive at that peaceful, silent state and just be.

I still have a sense of the body but no thoughts and i am peaceful.

Now, do i just remain in this state everyday whenever i can / as much as i can and it will slowly deepen as i adjust to it?

I have just found the ground zero

But rest of the ego is still here...

Just marination in silence now. Is that what i am to do?

@SoonHei Sounds like you got a bowlful of stillness.

That stillness is eternally present, yet the subjective experience is that I go in and out of it through the day. “Returning” to that stillness during practice is potent direct experience for me. My mind-body is still acclimating to it.

@SoonHei Hello brother.

Add in self inquiry and existence inquiry.  In your direct experience try to vanquish the materialist paradigm and you will see it come to pass.

Continue to practice the do nothing method, but since thoughts must come, make them about self inquiry and meta physics.  Contemplate the source of reality and existence.  Work and build your intuition.  One must have a powerful intuition in order to break thru to enlightenment because intuition will lead to becoming consciousness of your true self.

Force it not.  Remember it will reveal itself only when you are ready.  But to be ready is not to think about being ready.  It must happen when its ready to happen.

Good luck on your journey brother and remember enlightenment does not yield wisdom but wisdom does yield enlightenment.

Freedom first.

Stillness/ no-thing-ness is not dependent upon all the things of reality.

Every step taken in the field of reality is conditioned(dependent upon things). From here we continue to feed the loop of time. We employ time to gradually/progressively by process try and end that movement implicitly and unconsciously moving towards other conditions.

Every step we take within the field of reality is a perpetuation of very subtle additions to the content of conciousness. Even so much as to turn no-thing-ness into a “thing”.

There is no in and out. No now you see it now you don’t. No acclimating. There is seeing/action/no-thing-ness, or there is not.

There will be No questions remaining in that silence. Questions are born out of the field of reality (things) themselves.

Freedom first dude. Which means order to see what-is.

And does cultivation/effort/time/becoming(a reality full of the ‘thingifying’ built and sustained by conditions) end that same movement and structure of that reality?

When we see that there is no thing we can do actually/literally, there is a literal stepping out of the field of time(things-reality).

To put that reality in its right place.

@Serotoninluv yes. Stillness indeed.

Is this ultimately the simple thing which is so obvious? As to what happiness is? That quite space of stillness?

The one causing spontaneous laughter?

But now that i know it. It's just a place to be in, to relax my mind. @winterknight advised to just remain in that state and rest shall follow

@Inliytened1 yes brother. Self Inquiry based thoughts vs random other thoughts, any day

But rather, staying in the quite state and watching is powerful also

@Jack River yes. There's nothing which can be done and all questions are born from that state. And that for me has done it to an extent. I have had a peaceful mind all day today since that. Had a bit of laughter also

I am the ocean, all as ONE

When the fish jumps out of the water

That's a thought, projection, desire or fear, it will give Peace when it returns back to water, that is, in the fulfillment of it which is projected...

So, we are already in a state of peace as the ocean prior to the rising of the fear, desire, thought... That causes separation (if you're identifying with that thought that is)

@SoonHei Give yourself into that stillness. Explore with the curiosity and spirit of a child. Appreciate what grace reveals to you through the stillness.
