Conscious Capitalism

"If you are running a stage Orange business and you do not evolve your business into Green or above in the next 50 years, your business will be crushed by Green/Yellow corporations. So stop chasing max profits and start thinking strategically about how your business fits within human society at large. Your business must serve a super-ordinate purpose beyond lining your wallet."

How exactly will yellow and green out grow orange in business in the next 50 years? People rarely rebel under capitalism, and the green/yellow businesses won't succeed unless the market allows it. If enough employees don't quit because their wages are clearly unfair or their company has the negative aspects of stage orange then I can't see stage green/yellow business taking over in the next 50 years.

A business being stage orange doesn't prevent it from being supported and it doesn't mean it will be boycotted at all.

This is how I imagine it will happen. Basically, I think the general trend will be that Green/Yellow businesses will outcompete Orange businesses. Green alone is not enough to outcompete Orange businesses. It will be a mix of Green and Yellow that will outcompete Orange businesses.

Yellow is more flexible and strategic and intelligent than Orange.

There are just not enough Yellow people to form a critical mass of Yellow corporations.

No one guarantees that this transformation will finish after 50 years, it's just an arbitrary number...

I hope that people will break out of their material paradigms as soon as possible, which will cause this evolution from chasing profit to providing love and support probably.

If you would've wanted to run a business in the Czech Republic where I live a couple years ago, it will get stolen by the government, that was highly affected by Russian communists, now it's quite possible to do it, anything can happen, it just doesn't feel real now. :)

Agreed, but I don't get where Leo got the "in the next 50 years" from, I think we are further away from stage green than that and it might not be a linear growth.

It's a dichotomy that is impossible to reconcile consciously. Was reading a review of Robinson Crusoe in a collection of essays on 18th Century English Literature. Anyway in the book he wants to engage in the slave trade, as being the best return on capital at that time. Sells a Moorish boy into slavery when marooned, for 30 pieces of silver to a Portuguese slave trader on the condition he frees him if he converts to Christianity. My point being that Capitalism is built on necessary evil, which results in a greater good. The Flip side it is also impossible to reconcile socialism consciously.
