Should one try to be in high state of awareness all the time?

What I mean is being highly conscious all the time, Isn't this an important step towards all enlightenment? Does the body biologically take more energy of being in a high state of awareness?

Trying to be attentive is innatention itself.

When there is an influence of motive(desire) that is a movement of divided awareness(psychological evolution or self awareness).

No motive(desire-influence by the past/thought) is undivided awareness that is aware of self movement(inattention).

Awareness is directionless.. absent of effort in essence.

To see clearly implies no distortion of effort.

@Jack River true, but in a sense the biological body can be "more aware" in different times? Like needing to focus when you do self inquire?

@GabeN It means being conscious or aware of consciounseness itself. Most ppl place awareness on the thoughts and experiences that arise within consciousness while ignoring consciousness itself. Consciousness is primary in all this.

self Awareness(time) will focus according to its motives(the past) which narrows the awareness down to parts/fragments as opposed to seeing the whole of itself.

High state of awarness is something one discovers after awakening.

Is not something you force, is something you are.

Awareness doesn’t exclude

You got that right. Not excluding even illusion when it's present.

Yep. This exclusion itself is food for that illusion.

@GabeN what is inattention? What is an example of inattention?

Can there be a holistic understanding of what is inattention first?

Then we will see that we can meet the complexity of inattention(mind) with simplicity(awareness).

Conscious awareness is something you practice to build your capacity in your early journey. After a certain point, after many enlightenment experiences, it'll start to "click" and become effortless and something you are, like @Hellspeed said.

In the early journey, it'll take great effort and concentration to treat your entire day like a meditation. You will fail hundreds of times a day, but always bring yourself back to present awareness. It's worth it!

The illusion of self is imposed over awareness and therfore everyting in reality is seen through that filter.

You got it dude...

“The me” sees through its accumulated knowledge/experience-memory(motives/desires/bais-prejudices) (the past).

That “me” which is its content will see in fragments because it has not seen through the illusion that it itself is a fragment that excludes/discriminates between its likes-dislikes (other fragments-images).

Also “the me”(the fragment) wiill interpret and associate its moment to moment experiences with the word/concept which inherently implies to see what-is through a fragmented lens/filter.

@GabeN

A higher state in of itself won't give you much in terms of development. It's also important to remember that it's not actually affecting truth, since truth is untouched by all the change there is.

So you might work hard and reach a high state, be blissful for a couple of hours and your inner balance will equalise that with a low of the same intensity. You will feel terrible and hopeless, but if you learn to connect and be in tune with truth you will be untouched by such ups and downs, this is the stillness of god, which lies deep underneath all manifestation.

Being conscious doesn't at all mean to be super high all the time, it is to be aware of things as they are, high or low, to love and accept them anyway without a shred of condition.

Hope that helps, good luck on your journey fellow traveler!

@Jack River This is a bit hard to explain but sometimes reality/consciounseness becomes so perfectly focused, I mean like focused to infinity, that it ceases to exist. As if existance is only a diffusion pattern of true reality.
