And then 1 hour meditation in the evening now as I came home from work. Such a nice and quiet feeling in the whole of my being. Beautiful silence.

6th session of kayaking this year

Cold shower earlier in the day, and then a session of kayaking in the evening. So nice. This year it seems like I'm not kicking on kayaking so much because it is an awesome sensory and visual experience, but more because it is an awesome form of exercise. I guess the sensory and visual experience gets normalized after a certain period of time, even though you feel that it is very healthy and good for the soul to be out in that envirment, but what is really motivating is how totally awesome it is for ones body. I mean, one just starts to feel so strong in the upper body. The chest opens up and pops out, the spine gets eretec and strong, and everything just feels really right about it. It goes especially well together with my focus on sitting meditation these days, because I'm working so much on my posture when doing sitting meditation. Sitting meditation is just an invitation for the body to really open up and become strong. It becomes like that by relaxing deeply. So what is achieved in sitting meditation is much the same as what is achieved with kayaking, just in a much more active form. So they both mutually support each in both working directly on some specific and common goals.

Monday: 45 min meditation and a cold shower.

7th session of kayaking this year

So nice! First time paddling with a buddy this year. And when I came home I did 30 min of yoga. Perfect day :-)

45 min meditation today. Damn. I’m so much more present and invested in my interactions at my job when I sit for that amount of time. It is like I clear out all the gunk so I just feel positive and I return to a sense of innocence and joy.

45 min meditation today. So nice :-) I think I’m moving back to making silent sitting meditation (vipassana) my main focus. I’ll probably alternate back and forth a little between all these various types of practice that I do, but at the same time with the intention to gradually focus more on just sitting in silence.

Yesterday: 45 min meditation in the morning, spa with 2 cold baths in the evening.

Today: Only a cold shower so far, but it was really nice.

Sunday: 2 x 45 min sessions of meditation, spa with 4 cold-baths, and 1,5 hour of mantra-singing with group in the evening.

Monday: No practice, except a lot of music-jamming.

Tuesday (today): 45 min of meditation.

8th session of kayaking this year.

Sunday: Camping with a friend this weekend, and doing a good session of paddling as part of this. First time trying a tandem-kayakk. That was pretty cool. Also ending the evening with a cold-bath in a cold and beautiful in-land lake.

Monday: Spa with 3 cold baths.

Tuesday (today): Only a cold shower, but a really good one.

9th session of kayaking this year.

Cold shower early in the morning, 3 hours of kayaking in the evening. I'm noticing I seemingly have less and less need to elaborate much on my experiences. Maybe my internal processes has become less and less overwhelming over time so that there is less need to say much about it. But anyways, the kayaking was really great today.

Only a cold shower today, and a decent amount of guitar-playing. Seems like I’m getting more and more satisfied with my playing. It is a fun thing that I do every day, and there is a steady progress that I can trust will happen. I’m also reading a book called Zen Guitar, which is really perfect for me. And I have people I frequently jam with, and that is getting more satisfying as well. I used to project too much of my desperation out onto my jam-buddies, and even though we also had a lot of fun and got very inspired together, I think I contributed to creating a certain tenseness in our atmosphere which is now much more relaxed. So now that the guitar-playing is under control and no longer needs my total mental and emotional bandwith, I have even started to create visual art again. My goal is to remove as many frustrations from my creative processes as possible in order to just have as much fun with it as I can. Before it was very much something I did in order to prove my worth and to hopefully become «good enough» one day, and of course there are still elements of that, but my goal is to just be very relaxed and fun-oriented about it.

Cold shower today, and then later in the evening an incredible nice jam-session with two buddies. Those jam-sessions are getting better and more relaxed all the time. So nice. Feels like all desperation on playing guitar is gone. It is an established hobby which brings me a lot of joy every day. There are always new and surprising opportunities to discover fun ways to use it which keeps on adding to each other. I’m starting to see how it all connects. Looking forward to the day when all the over-thinking around it is gone, too.

10th session of kayaking this year

Spa with 3 cold baths today, then 1 hour and 10 min of kayaking, and then 30 min of yoga. Sweet <3 :-)

45 min meditation today as well. So nice. Would not be possible to alternate back and forth between working night-shifts and day-shifts without meditation.
