How Serious?

How Serious would you say Self Actualization is, not only in your own life, but in the Bigger Picture?

it was serious enough to spend over 40 years on personal growth, to move from functioning as a fictitious identity called a human being that functions as an unconscious being consumed by the desires of the identity, programing, false belief system, warped perception of everything to become self realized to functioning as a being of consciousness.

As far as the bigger picture, once becoming the being of consciousness one realizes from the being of consciousness, ( not the rationalizations of the identity ) that they were never born, never died, never lost, never needed saving by anyone or anything,  that will step out of this identity one day in a conscious, aware, present state of being liberated from the fictitious identity, ego, and the play we call life.

This is not an opinion, it wasn't gotten from someone's book, video, religion, or the thoughts of others, it did not come from rationalizing personal growth, it comes after the transition from the identity to the being of consciousness and if you have made this transition as a living experience I would like to hear you speak about it from the core of your being.

What I was actually asking is, well, I was implying or hoping somebody would agree that Self Actualization, for self and the Bigger Picture, is more serious than we even can fathom. The World needs Change. This Self Actualization business is not some trivial hobby :D

I take life as a big joke, and self actualization is a part of life. People tend to take things far too seriously myself included sometimes. But I like to laugh at everything and especially at myself. What I like to laugh at is the dialogue in my head... "this can't be happening, no, not again..."

So I take self actualization serious enough to make a habit but not a religion out of it if you see my point. There's got to be some fun right now as well for me. Not jumping in the next course for Zen masochist masters, there is some balance to find between the crazy non sens society living and the crazy non sens enlightenment chasing.

Ultimately we all look for peace of mind. At this moment, my work has paid off.

Who Am I to judge? When I think I know, I don't know that I don't know.

If you take enlightenment seriously you have missed the forest for the trees. ;)

Life is absurd, a joke, and not to be taken seriously(but still enjoyed, and be content with), and enlightenment is figuring out why that is so.

This is why it is better to be a court jester than the leader, or any other station in life.  Everyone else takes themselves, and life too seriously.

Interestingly, the Fool is also the first card in the Major Arcana in Tarot.  Because the journey/path starts when you figure out that life is not serious(it is "empty")... in reality.

The word I usually like to use instead is "sincerity".  How sincere are you in your search to realize?
