How would you define development? Who is a developed person?Does it all boils down to enjoyment of life in present moment?

Yes, in a sense it does boil down to that.   But self actualization, self development, self-awareness, etc, is an ongoing process and you are never really finished with it until your ego dies.

That said, the more self actualized you become the more you become fulfilled being in the present moment - thus the happier you are as an individual.

Wisdom.  Truth.  Love.

@NoSelfSelf A very important distinction is that Development is not awakening, and vice versa. Development (IMO) has to do with working on the ego, and strengthening it/moving towards a healthier version of it, free from neurosis. While awakening is the dissolution of the self. The two go hand in hand need to balance out.

Could u add to this?

Charlie Munger (according to Warren Buffet and Bill Gates - the smartest person they know) said:

“Spend each day getting a little wiser than you were when you woke up. Discharge your duties faithfully and well. Step by step you get ahead, but not necessarily in fast spurts. But you build discipline by preparing for fast spurt. Slug it out one inch at a time, day by day. At the end of the day - if you live long enough - most people get what they deserve.”

Great question. A truly developed person is both extremely complex and extremely simple. You could say, in some sense, they’ve mastered both sides of the spectrum, both yin and yang; they’ve gone full circle in the cycle of growth. They do everything to help the world, because they recognize that the world around them is them, and by helping it, they help themselves; BUT they aren’t attached to the outcome of the world around them because they recognize that if they are true to themselves, nothing outside their self can threaten them. In other words, they plan for the worst and hope for the best; but, either way, they’re chillin’. A developed person lives a balanced life, lives in moderation; but also lives moderately in moderation, and isn’t afraid to the extremes when necessary. A developed person simultaneously sees reality for what it is, and is a visionary at heart with a vivid imagination for a beautiful future. The developed person learns from the past but doesn't dwell on it. The developed person looks toward the future but doesn’t wish to be there, because they (almost) always consciously live in the present, and rest in its infinite beauty and understanding  and love. I could go on for ages, but you get the gist  :)

Bearing with the conditioned in gentleness, fording the river with resolution, not neglecting what is distant, not regarding one's companions; thus one may manage to walk in the middle. H11L2

It's a game you cannot win, but only a fool doesn't play it.

@tsuki yeah like life

@ajasatya so many people solve tough problems but they solve it in such unconcious neurotic disfunctional way that there is no high development needed

Yes, ultimately, but there are many counter intuitive paradoxes of self realization along the way.
