Shall I stop doing visualization or positive affirmation?

10 posts in this topic

Every morning, I do positive affirmation (repeating `I'm always aware`) for 5 minutes, do zazen meditation(focusing on breath) for 20 minutes, and visualize having a disciplined day for 10 minutes.

In my experiences for the last few weeks, it seems meditation is the most effective method of all three.

If meditation replaces the other two activities, it could be better. Or, I was not visualizing or affirming the right thing.

Everything has a time and a place in Personal Development Work.  Affirmations are good for when you know what you want and the Mind needs some re-programming.

Don't stop, just switch up your visualization/affirmation to something else. Awareness is best handled by meditation. But there are many other things you could visualize which meditation cannot give you.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Thanks. I'll keep doing visualization and positive affirmation. I will change what I visualize and affirm.

Just another tip you can also write down what it is your'e going to do step by step.

For example writing the exact steps that you'd want to take in your morning routine and then actually visualizing the day prior to doing all these steps, and then actually doing it. That's pretty powerful right there, if you can nail that down for 30-90 days you'll have amazing results.

Meditation is like the meta tool that will give you the capability to use all the other techniques with more awareness and discipline.

I have my morning routine in habitica. I executed my morning routine for over a year. So, I memorized my morning routine. I'm getting better at visualizing my morning routine and my day in general. I think it's time to move on from visualizing my day to something else.

In my experience affirmations are the most effective when you say them to other people. For example when someone asks you to introduce yourself you can say to them that you're a very aware person.
