So. Self inquiry is simply sitting and watching your inner self.  You constantly aware of anything in you . There is no "i" and only thoughts that arise. Just aware of anything that happening right now. Am i right ?

Next time you sit, become aware of the space behind the totality of the experience,  while not forgetting to breathe in a couple of deep breaths.

This is not, at least for me, about putting into words whether there is or there is no you. Thoughts - they are mere entertainment.

Go to the real space that holds them, that same space which holds your breath and holds the sensations in your body. This should help you in your meditations, because it helps me.

I meditate while drumming and that is anything but calm. Haha.

You could try to use some motion in your meditation to temper that physical reaction like drumming, a fidget spinner, walking or any number of simple activities. Use something that you already have well established muscle memory in doing so you don't have to 'think' about it to do it.

There's no right or wrong way, it's what works for us that is it.

@phllip103 in other words, be more interested in the space in which your experience happens, rather than giving the experience so much significance
