@Leo Gura It was an amazing and insightful video.

That video covers mostly big picture/broader implications of spiral dynamics. But what I see is self reference  problem. Like you have said about many areas and how many problems can be solved in terms of sp and almost in every case you mentioned that whoever gonna do that needs to be spirally developed at first. I think this is a key point which wasn't covered in the video.

Like as a person, how can I be spirally developed? I think at first,  I need to address my personal life issues such as career, rltnships, dealing with people effectively and day to day little things. how can I do that?

For example, If I am a stage green person but living in third world country, I have to deal with a lot of red/blue/ orange issues which can be challenging and emotionally laborious to me. How can I deal with that?

It will be nice if you shoot an episode about sp application in a person life which will cover more personal issues in details. we have got an understanding of broader issues from your latest episode, but lacking with personal issues and sp application.

@Annoynymous I already addressed how to climb the spiral in each of the color videos. You were given a list of ways to move beyond each color in each video.

Now you must actually do it.

Lets say I am at green. but my parents are in blue, my gf is in orange and my workplace is at orange. And they are holding me back. 

How can I make my career and rltnship work? do I have to abandon those entirely? or can I improve those also?

even though you asked for leo's advice.. I'd suggest staying present in your environment until YOU feel it's ready. Usually right before you're ready, but not quite comfortable, is the best time for advancement.

Well, the devil is in the details of course. You'd have to brainstorm some solutions, informed by your understanding of Spiral Dynamics.

Maybe you'd want to help reform the system and relationship, or maybe you'd just move on to greener pastures It all depends.

Generally, you cannot change a thing which doesn't want to change. So you could work with your girlfriend so long as she was open to growing and learning about Spiral Dynamics. Changing an Orange workplace is probably a no-go. You'd be better off finding a Green workplace or starting your own.

What i've noticed is that, it's not really much about moving up the spiral. Each stages have their own qualities and values. As long as we respect each other's values, even stage red person will be fine with you. & can get along with you fine. Really. 

I think it's about you accepting those around you for who they really are. We're all human afterall. 

You can't expect everyone to have your privilege(experience/education) or your perspectives.

For example, there are aborigin people, who are happier than you. They might be uneducated, but are smarter than you(in a different sense). And have a bigger heart than you. 

 

Haha but unless you personally wanna move up the spiral, the only way to do that is by living with everyone from those spiral( however you wanna think about it haha). Jk, I mean, open your mind to as much perspectives/area of studies/countries/travelling/be a polyglot etc. Just to see & experience things from different perspectives.

 

Haha I don't know tho. As Leo said, there are many independent factors. Don't limit yourself to the spiral either~ Don't limit anyone to spiral dynamic. The way I see it, everyone is unique, spiral dynamic is a useful tool on the bigger perspective, but not on individual level. If I try to categorize people individually (or even myself) , i'd go crazy~ so I won't even start doing that~
