Are Nightmares & dreams purging stuff & prepping us for enlightenment?

When I was doing a lot of sds sits & heavy self inquiry I would have vivid nightmares..

i remember in one of Leo's videos he said mediation cause some nightmares or sleep issues..

pretty sure the sds sits stirred that pot...

what the fuck are dreams any way? & how do they play a role in the spiritual world towards enlightenment???
