Does 5meodmt increase probability of awakening ?

6 posts in this topic

Leo acknowledges that the effect of psychedelics is to warp the various perceptive bodies (psychological, visual or even physical) so that one can even experience hyperspace or such things. He makes a distinction between that and awakening per say which is something I can relate to.

Now for people that experienced awakening using psychedelics how do you phrase or frame the fact that it seems more likely to awaken using psychedelics despite the fact that another outcome of their consumption is not to awaken but to make hallucinatory ? What are the mechanics of awakening in your experience ?

The main benefit of psychedelics that help with awakening is to break you out of your typical thinking. Think outside of the box that you were raised into. When you break out of this it expands your horizons of what you think about and consider. Every thought has some place in infinity. But it may not necessarily help you get a bigger picture of it all but instead you just get locked into another subsection of it.

@Tetcher The awakening on psychedelics is genuine (assuming you have an awakening on psychedelics -- which not everyone does), but it is usually temporary and the ego will return unless you do a lot of additional work to break it down.

Psychedelics give powerful glimpses and insights which would otherwise take years of manual labor to get (if ever).

Most people will never do enough hardcore spiritual practice to get as deep as psychedelics can take you within 60 minutes.

Imagine if you could take a pill and become a Tiger Woods -level golfer for 1 day. Then you drop back to normal. But still, you now know what it feels like to be a world class golfer, which would otherwise take you 10 years of hardcore practice which you would probably never do.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Tetcher A key point is this experience right now is a hallucination. Careful not to first claim reality is real / that the experience right now is as is real, and second that psychadelics cause hallucination. That’ll keep you on a glass hamster wheel.

@Tetcher I think fundamentally life is a dream. You exist as the substance of raw perception. Like a canvas on which everything is painted on. The notion of external reality and the individual self is also occurring as a perception in the present moment. There is no outside existence to anything we perceive.

I think if you fully realize this, you will awaken. Not as being in a mystical state, but you simply know that it is so. Just like you know that the sky is blue. This awakening shatters the notions of the objective world and material paradigms.

The problem is the conditioning of the mind that is not letting us see this. To view this conditioning for what it is, you must step out of it temporarily. This is where I think psychedelics come in. By having psychedelic induced Samadhi experiences, your conventional notions of reality will break apart almost inevitably. To fully awaken though, you will need to assimilate those deep experiences and insights.
