Health problems

8 posts in this topic

The reason why I created this thread is, that I am trying to work on my diet, slowly implementing what I have learnt, but I am having some issues, even though I shouldn't have them in my age of 15. Even my dad, who sits at work, drinks, eats a lot of unhealthy food and has a lot of friends who smoke around him has better health than me, so I am quite scared of what is happening.

For health, I do meditation in the morning, sometimes Wim Hof method and cold showers, stretching - all this is going well, i feel amazing while doing it. Then I usually eat fruits like bananas, grapes, apples, pomelos or melons for breakfast and also I eat nuts or rarely oatmeal. I have very similar things for snack.

Then it gets kind of different, even worse maybe, I either have a healthy lunch, something like rice with legumes or vegetables, like pumpkin, broccoli, carrot, zucchini... or I have rice with chicken or fish meat + vegetables. Sometimes I have to go out for food though, I am trying to stay vegan/vegetarian, so I go to Indian or I have kebab with friends, sometimes pizza.

I am also kind of half-assing dinner, I either have a vegetable meal, salad or the typical Czech dinner - bread with something. I just get stupidly hungry and I sometimes cannot help but to eat it, as preparing healthy meals take a lot of time. I also cannot really afford organic quality, besides some of the fruits, nuts and vegetables, which we grow in our garden.

I don't know, how much of a problem can this diet be, most of my friends don't even eat fruit, they just eat a lot of dairy and bread, but still I get sick like every week for the last 2 months and I also sometimes throw up after eating certain vegetable meals, I think it was caused by eating rice + zucchini and broccoli the last time. My lack of movement could be a problem too, but I am at least trying to run sometimes and do push ups during my breathing session in the morning. I will start going to the gym with my friends this week. I also have more acne than most of my friends.

Do you have any ideas on how to solve this? What could be the biggest problem? I mean, my diet is not great or anything, but the fact that I am throwing up on quite a typical diet, when most of my friends eat the same/worse, is kind of frightening to me.

@bejapuskas hi there. i suggest that you choose a style that works.

i've tried the yogic life and it works really well

  • food: ayurvedic diet
  • exercise: hatha yoga (asanas)

now i'm trying the gym style and it's working nicely as well

  • food: everything i used to eat on the ayurvedic diet + B12/BCAA/vegan protein + lots of water
  • exercise: classic gym stuff

it's a faster style. eat more and burn more.

so, in resume, have a specific goal and mimic what already works well.

There could be like a million reasons for this :D

I really don't know what to tell but there's one way to find a solution to your problems.

Just sit down quetly and pay full attention to you sickness. Just keep paying attention to whatever problem that you have. And if you have high enough awareness it will tell you what is the cause of your disease.

But you have to sit and look focused.

It migh work or atleast you can find a clue to your problem, a hunch..depending and how subtle your awareness is.

Other then that idk. I always consult ayurveda dactors if it's something serious. They can tell everything about every problem of yours :D

Just a speculation but it could be that your stomach is sensitive to certain food combinations.

There is a concept called "Food Combining" in the nutrition, more the alternative than the western nutritional science though as it has been proclaimed BS by many studies. The argument is that protein, carb and fats need different PH, different organs, ensymes for digestion and mixing them up confuses the digestive tract. Most people have no issue with this but still, it may be something worth looking into.

There are few rules of incorrect food combinations which include:

  • Heavy (animal) protein and heavy starchy carbs - think rice and chicken / fish and chips / a popular czech "pork, dumpling, sauerkraut;)
  • Heavy (animal) protein and heavy fat - think steak on butter / chicken and avocado
  • Fruit and protein (any) - think smoothie with protein shake or steak with jam
  • Melons - eat alone or leave alone
  • Fruits and Veg
  • Sweet fruits with acidic fruits

As I said, most people do not react to this, I have been blessed with very strong digestion and could probably combine all of them in single meal and not have a problem and someone else will throw up and get a diarrhoea.

Just my suggestion to you, perhaps try to look into the ones in bold first and see if it changes. Chances are your stomach is just too sensitive.

No guarantees but if you feel like you've tried everything, this may give some help

++ Another suggestion would be to see a gastroenterologist and have your stomach checked for gastritis or an ulcer.

@Michael569 Thanks Michael! I appreciate your support! :) I think that the biggest problem with me was the fruit in the morning and transitioning to a different diet very quickly. I am having some huge ego backlashes nowadays and my intuition is not really working well. When I went to see my doctor today, it all started to make sense. I am trying to grow as fast as possible, but it doesn't seem like a good approach to diet... :D
