Day 13

Had a 15 minute meditation session today.

Lately for some reason I have been thinking a lot about religion. I'm not a religious person, but I was born into a Christian family. I don't want to spark a religion debate so I'm not going to write my full thoughts about it. Overall, I am realizing there is still so much to learn about life. I must study the works of others and learn something new every single day. In essence, I am forever a student of life.

I love your student of life mentality and how open you are to experimenting with meditation! You'll always have so much to learn and there is a lot you will be ignorant about. I am highly ignorant about science and math but I remain dedicated to lifelong learning.

Day 14

Had a 5 minute meditation session today.

I forced myself to squeeze in 5 minutes because I was just very irritated today. The final straw was dealing with LA traffic. Just the things people do really adds up over time up till a point where I become angered. You can observe social dynamics and the ego that people have through driving. If you really take the time to observe people driving you can see how some people have such big ego problems. I notice this when I see some people go out of their way to hold back other cars from moving up, just so they can feel like they are superior. I see these kind of stupid stunts pulled constantly on the road here and it really gets annoying dealing with it every single day.

I noticed I get enraged when I get caught in situations that make me feel so weak and helpless. I think if I am not careful, my ego will start to hunt down power. I think this is what happens to the people who seek out positions that give them power. The people who constantly look to obtain power have felt  weak and helpless enough times where they have snapped.

I am recognizing this trap, and will note this so I can avoid going down this destructive path.

What I realized about people in Corporate America is how the people with the highest power and status are deeply miserable and are so heavily egotistical that they are obsessed with control. They're completely driven by schedules and their clocks and they're in a constant rush to get to the office and to get home. I'm willing to bet that they're deeply unhappy and unfulfilled about their work because they have the power and the money but they feel empty and miserable inside. When they're so stressed out, they snap angrily at you and they have no tolerance for delays or traffic jams. I wonder if they are ever happy or even remember what happiness is or if their happiness and authentic self is clouded by so much dirt and grime. I made the choice not to pursue power or prestige! I love focusing on discovering my passion and my authentic self! I'm glad that you're realizing people's desire for superiority

@Zane Yea that's why I think there are a lot of impatient and angry people customers that come into my work. A lot of people probably do forget what happiness is, that's why they constantly chase after pleasure because they confuse that with happiness. That's good Zane, sounds like you are on the right path!

Day 15

Had a 15 minute meditation session today.

I'm still feeling exhausted and drained. I have a desperate longing for a sense of freedom. I feel like I'm trapped in a prison. I wonder if I can overcome these feelings without making drastic changes in my circumstances. I have always focused so much on changing my circumstances to change my feelings. Is it possible for me to change my feelings even though my circumstances largely stay the same? Is that what it means to truly remove your ego? Hmm, I wonder.

Day 16

Had a 15 minute meditation session today.

I feel that meditation is helping me a little bit, but I'm sure I will need to do it for a while before I can realize a lot of the benefits that meditation can bring.

In what way do you feel meditation is "helping" a little bit?

@Wouter Helps me feel calmer and clears my head. It also helps me feel more energized and focused as well. The feelings I get are very subtle and the effects don't last long though. I don't think I will see drastic changes until I practice advanced meditation techniques that require a lot of mental strength to do.

Day 17

Had a 15 minute meditation session today.

At my current point in my life, it takes some effort to just take 15 minutes out of the day and to sit there. It's only 15 minutes, yet I find setting that time aside and meditating isn't that easy for me. My main goal right now is consistency. I want to be able to do 15 minutes every single day consistently until it becomes easy. I will work it up until I can do 1 hour a day.

Day 18

Had a 15 minute meditation session today.

I'm feeling tired both physically and mentally today. I don't know if it's a build up from not enough sleep through the week or if it's from the struggles of life I have been enduring for the past 4 years. Either way I just feel exhausted overall. I can only keep pushing on until, I find a way out.

Day 19

Had a 15 minute meditation session today.

Today was a mixture of deep reflection and fooling around. I usually feel guilty for fooling around because I feel like I am wasting my time. I realized though that sometimes it's necessary for me to take my mind off of things for short periods of time to recharge myself and gain better focus.

Day 20

Had a 15 minute meditation session today.

Life is very confusing. I used to feel so certain about a lot of things. Now I'm in the phase of being lost again. I'm going through the life purpose course and I'm not sure what my life purpose is yet. I thought I wanted a certain career path and that I would be able to design my life a certain way. Now I need to question myself and the path I'm on. I need to find the truth.

Day 21

Had a 15 minute meditation session today.

Meditating consistently has been really good for me. Slowly I feel the fog start to lift from my head. I'm starting to see that there are multiple sides to things. I have learned not to take things at face value. Even though there so many things I feel I should be doing, I should absolutely make sure to stick with meditation. I haven't been working on my business for the past few weeks. There are so many things on my plate that I'm currently ignoring because I feel mentally exhausted and drained every single day. The one thing I am doing consistently is meditating. Somehow, maybe this path may show me the way.

Day 22

Had a 20 minute meditation session today.

Today I watched Leo's video about meditating deeper:

It's perfect timing that I stumbled onto this video. He talks about 3 different stages of meditation. He also says we should break down the stages into 30 day periods. I am currently on the 1st stage, but I am nearing 30 days. It will be a great time for me to make the transition onto the 2nd stage when I hit the 30 day mark. This gives me something to look forward to. I am now more dedicated and focused on advancing with meditation.

Day 24

Had a 25 minute meditation session today.

Still feeling very confused and troubled today. I feel compelled to discover the truth. What is life about? We live in a world constructed by people.  We have successfully built a world separate from reality. We are born into a system that is designed to keep us distracted.

I love how you've been expanding the time of your meditation sessions from 20 to 25 minutes. This will exponentially increase your progress for meditation!

Day 25 (This is for yesterday, because I forgot to write in my journal last night)

Had a 25 minute meditation session

Currently I am thinking about the question: Who am I?

As I dive deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, I become more and more confused

Day 26

Had a 25 minute meditation session today.

At this point I don't know if meditation is having a large impact in my life. The effects are very subtle. I'm going to see through this challenge to 100 days. Then I can evaluate if meditation has had any sort of impact on me.
